The Greatest American Hero I think would be a hit if they did a series revival. With Smallville being so serious, GAH would be great because of how comical it was. You take a regualr school teacher and give him a super suit that he loses the instruction book to, and now he has to figure out how it works on his own.
This show was played on the idea of what would happen if a regular guy was given super powers in a suit by an alien and told to solve the worlds problems. He crashed into everything because he can't fly right without the instruction book. But he still manages to get the job done dispite his many faults.
The show came out in the 80s and was a hit when it did. It only lasted 3 seasons and was canceled by ABC. NBC tried to revive the show as the Greatest American Heroine in the mid 80s with a girl as the super suit hero, but the public didn't buy into it so it never made it beyond the pilot. I have heard that Disney is toying with the idea of making a movie out of it, but nothing has happened so far. They should redo it as a series and see what happens with it now. back in 1983, the special affects they had available for TV were not very good. but todays TV special affects would make it work great.
What I loved about this show so much, besides the fact that it was completely hilerious, was that it was a fantasy played on reality. Despite the fact the Ralph Hinckly had superpowers, he still had to deal with the day to day issues of life like a regualr guy. He even had to fight with the IRS on back taxes in one episode. This is what I loved about the show the most.
