Damn It! This is awful news... Poor Matthew Perry, this show was great too....

Theme music....

"Mr. Sunshine yea......." Probably the shortest into ever.

I sampled it a few times and never warmed up to it. The Matthew Perry character was a jerk with little redeeming values who picked up chicks for sex, and thought of himself as a stud. I hate those kind of people (as do many others), so I don't want to watch them on television.

I did like the actress, Allison Janney who played the boss, and the actor, Nate Torrance who played her son, the jolly, fat guy. Torrance is a funny guy who I hope gets more work. I basically watched the series because of them. I liked the episode when the son was hit by his drunk mother by a golf cart in the stadium, with the mother afraid that her son will sue her, when all he wants is her attention. (the episode with Jimmy Conners in it)

Strangely, this is the second ABC show named "Mr. Sunshine" cancelled after a single season; the first being a 1986 show starring (the great) Jeffrey Tambor, who played a blind professor. The target audience couldn't watch it and the PC crowd hated it.

Never saw the show. From the above description, it sounds like yet ANOTHER comedy filled with unlikeable characters. Is it some kind of taboo in Hollywood now to create characters that people actually CARE about rather than just point at and laugh at?

I find it weird that two days after the show was cancelled, Matthew Perry checked into rehab... i wonder what the hell happed there....

It wasn't a bad show. I thought Perry was pretty funny. I liked it a lot more than the show that replaced it, that show about the young couples.

This continues the bad luck streak of Andrea Anders, the pretty blonde co-star. She's building up quite a resume filled with short lived shows.

...by using "Walking On Sunshine" in the initial promos, I knew the series was in trouble. I've seen too many movie promos that use "baby-boomer" hits on the soundtrack to cover up the fact the material being promoted wasn't as memorable. Besides, networks often tend to quickly cancel unsuccessful programs they don't own outright, or co-produce and own. "MR. SUNSHINE" was one of them...and I'm positive it wasn't a coincidence that Perry went into rehab shortly after ABC dropped the show.

It could have been a better series.
