Deadline is reporting that freshman series "Law & Order: Los Angeles" has gotten the hook.

Even after a drastic overhaul that saw Skeet Ulrich get killed off, Alfred Molina change professions, Corey Stoll shave his mustache and Alana De La Garza join the cast.

Can't say I'm surprised.

It's the lousy timeslot that I place a lot of the blame on.

The series was doing decent on Wednesdays, paired with SVU. But after a mere 8 episodes, it's pulled off the air for four months, missing the Feb. sweeps period in the process. When it returns, it's on Monday's, which was never a good night for any L&O series. (remember, the original was moved to Monday's midway though its last season, then cancelled. :(

It's too bad NBC took a good show, and seemed to make it their mission to kill it. I'm guessing they just want to be done with the whole franchise. But they HAD to renew SVU because it does a lot better in the ratings then most of their other shows.
