I really liked Blood Creek but I wouldn't call it a zombie movie. It's more of a supernatural occult story.


I've never seen it but I have heard nothing positive about the Day of the Dead remake.

Day of the Dead (2008)- Horrible

Dance of the Dead (2008)- Very entertaining. It's like zombies invading an 80's teen comedy.

Dead and Deader (2006)- Horrible

Shockwaves (1977)- Very underrated. I think one of the better of the Nazi zombie subgenre. Very atmospheric.

Severed: Forest of the Dead (2006)- This gets a lot of hate amongst the horror community, but I enjoyed it.

The Video Dead (1987)- Super super cheesy, and I love it. Hilarious dialogue. Also enjoyed it for its zombie mythos that didn't follow the Romero rules. Of course I do have strange taste when it comes to bad horror flicks.

Blood Creek (2009)- Haven't seen it yet.

Dead and Breakfast (2004)- Great blend of horror comedy and music.


I think Return Of The Living Dead is on there- one of the best.

The Horde- Fun French zombie flick

Mutants '09- Another good French zombie invasion flick.

It's not a zombie film, but I highly recommend the 1970 British horror thriller- And Soon The Darkness.

The DVD seems to have gone out of print, it's available at places like Amazon, but not cheap.

I watched The Horde last night.

Pretty good, but with a few lingering questions and a few quibbles on my end.

And Soon The Darkness (1970) is available on Netflix.

My favorites are

Day of the Dead
Zombieland
Dawn of the dead (2004 one)
28 Weeks Later and 28 Days later

Those are the only ones that come to mind atm.

Sugar Hill '74. One of the better blaxploitation horror films.

White Zombie '32- Considered the first zombie film. This is my personal favorite Bela Lugosi performance.

Tombs Of The Blind Dead '71- The first film in the Spanish Blind Dead series. I'm a big fan of these films, very atmospheric.

King Of The Zombies '41. Super-low budget campy fun. Mostly thanks to Mantan Moreland.

The Astro Zombies '68- If you're lactose intolerant towards cinema cheese then stay clear. The term "so bad it's good" was created for films exactly like this. Plus it has John Carradine and Tura Satana. Co written by Wayne Rogers:crazy:

One that I always enjoyed even though I only saw it once a LONG time ago was the very low budget "Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things". It's an example of a horror film that REALLY scared me, as in, "looking around the corner to see if anything is following me" scary.

Great film for sure. I still think it's a creepy film, and I think it still features the best zombies crawling out of the graves scene.

Bob Clark made some very memorable horror films from the 70's- besides CSPWDT...., Dead Of Night(aka Deathdream) is an interesting twist on the zombie genre, and The Monkey's Paw story. And of course Black Christmas.

Clark's Murder By Decree is a great Sherlock Holmes movie.

Little trivia, Jeff Gillen who plays Jeff in Children Shouldn't, went on to play Santa Claus in Bob Clark's A Christmas Story.

I always liked 1981's "Dead and Buried." It was a different take on the zombie movie and it had some pretty good twists and turns. It was written by the same guys who wrote "Alien."
