I'm the youngest of 3 also and my mom is a baby boomer.
She isn't sick but she has had issues with her nerves, like the sciatica nerve in her back that made her limp and be in pain... This was a few years ago and that was very difficult to see her in pain, I don't drive, so badly want to... My middle sister was really worried about her and thought maybe it was cancer, even after she told her there was no cancer. Middle sister would come over and check on her which annoyed me and her. She did have a shot in her back to make the nerve stop bothering her.
Now she has an issue with her neck, pinch nerve it is called and she is taking medicine but she will have an MRI because it WILL come back since it flares up then goes away. She is able to lie down and that is about all that helps it. My sisters do know about it and the middle sister seems to be handling it better this time around.
Even though it is a bit different as to taking care of your mom kind of thing but even if it's temporary, it's still stressful.
