ryan423 05-09-2011, 01:14 PM NBC Fall 2011 revised-
Monday
8:00pm The Biggest Loser
10:00pm Prime Suspect **
- If you can't win on Monday's, don't place scripted programming from 8-10pm.
Tuesday
8:00 Parenthood
9:00 Are You There Vodka? Its Me Chelsea **
9:30 Whitney **
10:00 - The Playboy Club **
- Parenthood has had a lead-in for to seasons. Let it sink or swim on its own. As for our two new multi-camera comedies, I'm sure they'll get a portion of the female audience from 8pm, and a portion of viewers turning the channel after Glee depending on if FOX keeps it on Tuesdays at 8.
Wednesday
8:00 Smash **
9:00 Alpha Mom **
9:30 Community / Parks and Recreation
10:00 Law & Order: SVU
-Neither COMMUNITY nor PARKS AND RECREATION deserve full season pick-ups with their numbers. I say give them each 16-18, and run them uninterrupted in the same time slot. When one show concludes its run, let the other take the time slot.
Thursday
8:00 Reality Programming **
9:00 The Office
9:30 30 Rock
10:00 NEW DRAMA **
- If CBS keeps THE BIG BANG THEORY at 8pm on Thursdays, NBC should admit defeat and program something cheap in the reality department for the first hour. Comedy night has not done right since FRIENDS and FRAISER, so I say give something new a go, while keeping two of your veteran sitcoms in the less comically-competitive hours. If OFFICE cant succeed without Carrell, and 30 ROCK cannot maintain a decent enough rating behind it, end both next year with proper send offs!
Friday
8:00 Who Do You Think You Are? / Betty Whites Off Their Rockers **
9:00 Chuck (Final Season)
10:00 Dateline
- Bring CHUCK back for a final season to boost its numbers for syndication, anywhere from 10-22 episodes. Giving it a 10-episode order brings the show to 88 episodes, the appearantly new magical number for syndication, giving it 13 will allow the writers not to rush through a storyline, and 22 will let it hit the 100-episode mark. Start the night with two promising reality shows, including the successful Who Do You Think You Are and the show with a name that guarantees at least a 1.3-1.5 in the demo, Betty White with Off Their Rockers.
Midseason: Harrys Law, The Voice, The Sing-Off, Celebrity Apprentice (pending), plus any new shows
Likely To Be Canceled or Already Canceled: Chase, The Event, Undercovers, Outsourced, The Paul Reiser Show, Perfect Couples, School Pride, America's Next Great Restaurant, Law & Order: LA, The Cape, Friday Night Lights, Outlaw
James28 05-09-2011, 02:24 PM ^^Why not let Chuck have its 100th episode as the series finale? Also, Law & Order:LA is just a white elephant series that should have had higher ratings than what they do have, so SVU should end soon, maybe after 14 seasons?
ryan423 05-09-2011, 04:05 PM FOX Fall 2011 -
Sunday –
8:00pm – The Simpsons
8:30pm – Bob’s Burgers
9:00pm – Family Guy
9:30pm – The Cleveland Show
- Bring American Dad, Allen Gregory, and Napoleon Dynamite on during hiatuses. I for one am tired of only getting a couple of new Family Guy every so often. If you don’t have enough to run through the season, run all the ones you have without reruns, and then place new episodes of another cartoon in its place and so on… Why air repeats when new animations might do just as well if not better? At the end of the season, evaluate the ratings of what you have, and if only The Simpsons and Family Guy are pulling the right numbers in, stop hesitating and cancel the rest. I guarantee putting The Simpsons and Family Guy behind a young-skewing show like Glee would do better than any sitcom you place behind it, including the why-did-they-renew-it Raising Hope. If I were FOX, I wouldn’t have hesitated to cancel all but those two, place them in the 9pm hour, and try Glee on Sundays at 8pm… or, place them with Glee on another night such as Tuesday and use Sunday for other dramas like House and Bones.
Monday –
8:00pm – House
9:00pm – WEEKENDS AT BELLEVUE
Tuesday –
8:00pm – Glee
9:00pm – TERRA NOVA
Wednesday –
8:00-10:00pm – THE X-FACTOR
- If the show is an hour, place another promising drama here. If the show is an hour and a half, place a new multi-camera show here. Invest in something real good, and promote the hell out of it.
Thursday –
8:00pm – THE X-FACTOR
9:00pm – Bones / THE FINDER (Bones Spin-off)
Friday –
8:00pm – Gordon Ramsey's (FILL IN THE BLANK HERE)
9:00pm – Fringe
Midseason: Breaking In, Raising Hope, other new shows
benjamoon 05-09-2011, 05:02 PM Here's my NBC schedule (shameless plug: I have more details in my blog this week, link is in my signature)

9:00 Who Do You Think You Are?
10:00 Dateline NBC
SATURDAY
8:00 Encores
SUNDAY
7:00 Football Night in America
8:00 Sunday Night Football
MIDSEASON: The Sing Off, The Voice, Celebrity Apprentice, America's Got Talent (summer), REM, Metro, A Mann's World, Untitled Kari Lizer, Untitled Whitney Cummings, Untitled Emily Spivey
CANCELLED: Chuck, The Event, Chase, The Cape, Law & Order: LA, Outsourced, Perfect Couples, School Pride, America's Next Great Restaurant, Undercovers, Outlaw, Friday Night Lights, The Paul Reiser Show
icecream 05-09-2011, 06:34 PM I definitely think The Voice should go Sundays 8-10 after football. Then Smash would air at 10, The Voice can make Smash a hit just like Idol made Glee a hit. NBC is really stupid if they pass on 17th Precinct, it's their best chance of a new hit. And shame on them if they pick up The Playboy Club.
Pavan 05-09-2011, 07:23 PM In case anyone missed it, our NBC and Fox preview:
http://blog.sitcomsonline.com/2011/05/sitcomsonlinecom-2011-12-upfront.html
Mr. Television 05-09-2011, 07:40 PM NBC has so few hits. It's going to be hard for any of these new shows to make it no matter how good they are. The only shows I watch regularly on NBC are Chuck and SVU. Since Chuck is probably gone, I'll be down to one hour on that network next year unless some show really breaks out.
ryan423 05-10-2011, 02:21 PM ABC Fall 2011 -
Sunday –
7:00pm – America’s Funniest Home Videos
8:00pm – Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
9:00pm – Desperate Housewives
10:00pm – Good Christian Bitches
Monday –
8:00pm – Dancing with the Stars
10:00pm – Charlie’s Angels
Tuesday –
8:00pm – Dancing with the Stars: The Results
9:00pm – Cougar Town
9:30pm – Apartment 23
10:00pm – Body of Proof
Wednesday –
8:00pm – Untitled Tim Allen Project
8:30pm - Smothered
9:00pm – Modern Family
9:30pm – The Middle
10:00pm – Castle
- I hate when you have a mix of multi-camera and single-camera comedies together. Keep them separate. The Middle will surely grab the greatest retention as an established show behind Modern Family because they’re both family sitcoms and they’ll sync well together. People have already made up their minds about Cougar Town, and it really doesn't sync well with Modern Family. Look how The Big Bang Theory blew up behind Two and a Half Men last season! I bet if Modern Family comes back this fall in the 12-13 million range, The Middle will average anywhere from 9-11 million viewers, and a 2.7-2.8 in the demo. A sitcom with a name like Tim Allen in front of it would do fine starting off the night. It would probably average Middle’s numbers or do a little better. I also expect Castle would do fine on a new night, and this would be the best ABC has done with a Wednesday drama at 10pm in quite a few years.
Thursday –
8:00pm – Once Upon a Time
9:00pm – Grey’s Anatomy
10:00pm – Private Practice
Friday –
8:00pm – Wipeout
9:00pm – Celebrity Wife Swap
10:00pm – 20/20
Midseason: Poe, Suburgatory
Canceled – Happy Endings, Mr. Sunshine, Better with You
mets82 05-10-2011, 04:23 PM I just want to say this is a great board. I LOVE to go on here!!! My question might be a dumb one but these upfront schedules that your posting, are these the schedules that the networks have released or what you think the schedules are going to be?
icecream 05-10-2011, 04:36 PM I agree 100% with Castle moving to Thursdays at 8:00, that's where I want it. The other option would be Wednesdays at 10 but that would conflict with Psych for me. I also like Subergatory paired with The Middle. At first I wanted Last Man Standing/Smothered Tuesdays at 8:00. Now I'm thinking 9:00 would be better. I don't want them to get killed like No Ordinary Family was against NCIS/Glee.

But you aren't keeping them separate - the multi-camera Smothered leads into single camera Modern Family. ABC would be better off trying multicamera shows on a new night (most likely Tuesday)

Pavan 05-10-2011, 07:22 PM Here is our ABC prediction, if anyone missed it today:
http://blog.sitcomsonline.com/2011/05/sitcomsonlinecom-2011-12-upfront_10.html
ryan423 05-10-2011, 07:45 PM But you aren't keeping them separate - the multi-camera Smothered leads into single camera Modern Family. ABC would be better off trying multicamera shows on a new night (most likely Tuesday)
What I meant was mixing them, such as how they have Better With You placed in between The Middle and Modern Family, and it doesn't fit.
icecream 05-11-2011, 03:02 PM CBS
Sunday
7:00 60 Minutes
8:00 The Amazing Race

I think it would be a big mistake if CBS picked up Rookies.
mgsports 05-11-2011, 04:56 PM NBC/CBS on Saturday's would Schedule new Drama's or News Magazines.
ABC on Friday's would bring back TGIF with Tim Allen's Show and so on.
NBC on Thursday would try to get like maybe like Cheers or Friends remake.
Pavan 05-11-2011, 07:15 PM The CBS upfront preview, if you missed it today:
http://blog.sitcomsonline.com/2011/05/sitcomsonlinecom-2011-12-upfront_11.html
I REALLY hope CBS doesn't bring 'Men' back. It has run its course and I don't want Charlie Sheen back on TV again. The kid's even grown. If they bring it back without Sheen, I doubt it would do well at all.
James28 05-11-2011, 10:43 PM If there was a "Proper-Endings-For-Long-Running-Network-TV-shows-Act", the cancellation of any network TV series that has run for 4+ seasons without a proper series finale is forbidden.
James28 05-12-2011, 03:58 AM I wouldn't want to see the Charlie's Angels remake or Good Christian B*ches ordered to series. If they get ordered to series, you (ABC) are gonna have yourselves a candidate for cancellation after one season.
icecream 05-12-2011, 01:11 PM I would totally overhaul the CW schedule.
Monday
8:00 Nikita
9:00 Hart of Dixie

DSfan 05-12-2011, 11:30 PM Pav, correct me if I'm wrong but on the boards, all that has been posted are the summaries/descriptions of potential ABC sitcom and drama pickups but NO summaries for any potential shows being developed by the other networks.
If you have them, could you please post them somewhere? With all of these great daily blogs about what each network is possibly going to do, I think we would all appreciate the summaries of these shows that you're talking about to get a better sense of things.
I've been trying to find out more about Person of Interest from CBS and some others, too.
Thanks!
Pavan 05-13-2011, 12:14 AM We don't have the full packages and rights to post full synopsis like that for the other networks, but you can easily find the synopsis for the pilots on Hollywood Reporter, Variety and TheFutonCritic.com's "devwatch" section.

socalledboothy 05-13-2011, 03:56 PM In the CW Upfront Preview, why are Nikita and Hellcats listed as new series even though they are going into their second seasons?
I really hope ABC doesn't cancel Better with You or Mr Sunshine. I love those shows!
I was glad to see Parenthood get renewed. I hope The Good Wife gets renewed too.
tbswatcher 05-13-2011, 04:41 PM Today was a big day for ABC.
Renewed: Happy Endings
Cancelled: V, Brothers and Sisters, Mr. Sunshine, Off The Map, No Ordinary Family and Detroit 1-8-7.

Cancelled: The Event, Law and Order: LA, Outsourced.

Barf at Working It getting picked up, I would have rather seen Other People's Kids or My Freaking Family. And it was a mistake to pass on Poe and Identity, I think both Pan Am and The River will bomb.
EmoJoe 05-13-2011, 07:04 PM NBC's comedies sound so bad, with maybe the exception of the Applegate and Handler projects. it was only 2009 that they picked up two of the best comedies on TV right now (Parks and Community), what happened?
Pavan 05-13-2011, 07:22 PM In the CW Upfront Preview, why are Nikita and Hellcats listed as new series even though they are going into their second seasons?

Hmm, thanks for some reason last season's preview got posted?? Strange because it was up yesterday.
OK it is now back up. Very strange.
James28 05-18-2011, 11:34 PM In 2012, five series are gonna be ending their long runs: House M.D., Chuck, Criminal Minds, Law & Order: SVU, and Two and a Half Men.

Why do you think that?
Yes to Chuck and quite possibly House... and maybe even SVU on an off chance
But no way Criminal Minds is going anywhere and I think Ashton Kutcher will give some new life to Two and a Half Men that will give it a couple more years

The Criminal Minds spinoff got cancelled, so season 7 of the original series will be the last. And One Tree Hill will be a midseason entry this year and that's gonna end as well. But what if Two and a Half Men ends regardless of whether Ashton Kutcher is successful or not? CBS has to cancel the good shows to free up space for any of their new shows, that's why few new shows were ordered.
And the cancelled after one season candidates are The new Charlie's Angels and Good Christian Belles.

There is no way in hell that CBS is planning on 2.5 Men ending next year now with fresh blood in Kutcher. Only if it's a ratings disaster will you see it canceled. CHUCK, HOUSE, and ONE TREE HILL (that's still on?!!!) are ending, as confirmed, but SVU and Criminal Minds are bankable in syndication, and will continue as long as they make the networks money. SVU is NBC's highest rated drama... why in the world would they cancel it?

The Criminal Minds spinoff got cancelled because fans of the original series turned against it after they fired AJ Cook and let Paget Brewster go. The show wasn't very good to begin with though. I watched one episode and quit. the original continues to entertain. I just hope Thomas Gibson returns.
benjamoon 05-20-2011, 12:02 AM The Criminal Minds spinoff got cancelled, so season 7 of the original series will be the last.
Not surprisingly, that makes no sense at all
James28 05-20-2011, 04:28 AM So, we aren't counting on NCIS and its spinoff or any of the three CSI shows ending this season, would you? That's why so little room is left for any new shows.
How about this: If Kutcher is successful on 2.5 Men, a deal is made for a Season 10. NBC and USA has thrown away most of the Law & Order franchise, and Mariska possible departure, so there's really no point if SVU will continue past Season 13 or 14. I don't care how high its ratings are or how bankable it is in syndication. And Cuddy is going to leave House after Season 7.
And I'm not considering renewing Criminal Minds for a S8 in 2012-13.
ryan423 05-20-2011, 12:08 PM I'm not considering renewing Criminal Minds for a S8 in 2012-13.
Not to be rude, but your consideration makes no difference in the network's decision. Your points are not valid. Stars leave shows, and they can go on. It happens!
Pavan 05-20-2011, 07:23 PM In 2012, five series are gonna be ending their long runs: House M.D., Chuck, Criminal Minds, Law & Order: SVU, and Two and a Half Men.
Not true, only Chuck and One Tree Hill are confirmed ending after next season.

That is a close one, but not 100% as Chuck and One Tree. Those are announced final seasons.
James28 05-20-2011, 11:26 PM Not to be rude, but your consideration makes no difference in the network's decision. Your points are not valid. Stars leave shows, and they can go on. It happens!
I don't care. I don't need to take that kind of jack from an under-35.
ryan423 05-21-2011, 06:57 PM I don't care. I don't need to take that kind of jack from an under-35.
I'm not giving you anything. I'm just confused why you'd make final season accusations that are not accurate. I'm not trying to start anything, so please don't take it personally!
yankeesrj12 05-22-2011, 02:52 PM Why in the world would CBS cancel Criminal Minds?! Criminal Minds is one of CBS highest rated dramas, just take a look.
Week ending May 15th:
NCIS - 3.5 demo
Criminal Minds - 3.3 demo
NCIS: Los Angeles - 2.8 demo
The Mentalist - 2.7 demo
CSI - 2.6 demo
Ah yes, you MUST be right, CBS is going to cancel its second highest rated drama. You need to get some help if you think Criminal Minds will be cancelled next season.
Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior was cancelled because it sucked, along with the ratings.
James28 05-22-2011, 11:45 PM I dislike the way you're acting towards me right now. I am 83 years old and I have watched network TV from the 50s through the 90s. I don't need help of any king, if you suggest that towards me, you're gonna be denied entry to my nightclub when, even after you turn 35.
Channel Canada has just put up their always-excellent Fall Preview section, which not only offers full coverage of the main Canadian stations, which I'll write about later today on a separate post, but they do a great job with the US networks too as you will see in the following links, which hopefully may help clear up any confusion about the new schedule. Each page includes the full 2011-12 fall lineup, also, from top to bottom, schedules from the 4 previous seasons, and full details and previews of each of the new series. Have a look and enjoy:
