The Officer has the suspect with his hands
behind his back, one hand stacked on top of
the other with the thumbs locked. The Officer
quickly pulls his handcuffs from his handcuff
case and obtains a firm grip on the cuffs with his
right hand with his left hand holding the suspect's hands
as the Officer bring the cuffs toward the suspect's
right hand and pushes the first cuff on. It fails to
lock, so he brings his right knee up and uses it close
the cuff. He then rotates the cuffs toward the suspect's
left hand with his right hand while he grabs the suspect's
left wrist with his left hand and uses thumb pressure to separate
the suspect's hands while maintaining control of the cuffs with
his right hand. The Officer firmly grips the suspect's left hand
with his left hand as he positions the second cuff on that left
hand and snaps it on, making sure it locks. He loosens the grip
on the cuffs so he can tighten the cuff with 2 fingers while the
keeping the suspect's left hand controlled with a bent wrist
technique. He then lets go of the cuffs and the suspect's left
hand and with his right hand uses a modified wrist twist on
the suspect's right hand while tightening the first cuff with a
finger of his left hand. He then releases that hand and then double
locks the cuffs with a double locking pin.
