View Full Version : Where Would You Rank The Wedding of Mike & Carol From 'The Brady Bunch?'

Almost tame in comparison to some of the chaotic weddings on this list, but at the time, watching two people come together as man and wife amidst a dog chasing a cat and six children running around and a cake toppling all over the groom was pretty insane. In retrospect, though, the craziest thing about it was that the newlyweds decided that their honeymoon was too quiet and got all six children to come along with them. Yeah, they needed therapy very badly.

This is why I'm glad that The Cosby Show did not show us any weddings. It seems that the only way that weddings work on TV is if something goes awry.

Seems like just about every episode of any TV show involving a wedding was just stupid. The BB pilot was certainly no exception. I can count the number of BB episodes I refuse to watch on one hand, and this is one of them.

I don't know which wedding was stupider, Happy Days episode where M/H renew their vows or the BB one.

Every wedding should be crashed by a shaggy dog chasing a frightened cat.

It wasn't too bad up until the bride and groom decided to go get their kids for their honeymoon. I'm sorry, but if newlyweds can't figure what they SHOULD be doing on their honeymoon then that is a red flag in my book. The ending of this episode ruined an already mediocre at best episode.

Well the whole point of them taking the kids was so that the kids would be more comfortable with the changes that were happening to them. It's a very unorthodox idea, I'll grant you, but it's an example of parents actually thinking of their kids first before themselves, and for me, that's something we shouldn't all automatically snark at.

It's not one of my favorite Brady episodes, but it's certainly not one of the worst.

As far as any sitcom wedding episodes go, I don't like them. Like stated above, they need to thrive on something awry or chaos in order to generate the comedy.

In general they always seem to be the weaker episodes of every sitcom that does them.

And sitcom vow renewals are always lame.

I agree. The only real exception to this rule that I can think of is the wedding of Ted and Georgette from TMTMS. That one was funny because it relied on character to bring out the comedy, not silly gimmicks or plot devices. :)

It's one of my least favorites, unfortunately. I thought that the part where Bobby asked what he took on a honeymoon (with Greg answering, "A girl, dummy!") was very lame. Of course, by my definition a honeymoon occurs right after a wedding, and there are no kids around, unlike with Mike and Carol.

I liked the wedding of J/C on Happy Days. It was nice, it wasn't stupid or anything.

Well, to be fair, that episode was also the series finale, so of course the producers weren't going to spoil it by using silly gimmicks seen in most wedding episodes.

It was even sillier when they had the same thing happen on The Brady Girls Get Married LOL.

I thought it was sweet episode, but I probably need therapy too. I like that Carol wore yellow instead of white. These days it would be unusual for a widower or a woman with kids to do that.
