The greatest reality show on TV is the Stanley Cup Playoffs and it's now in Round 2. While NFL fans aren't sure if there will be any football to watch next year and NBA fans are reaching for insomnia aids in record numbers, hockey lovers have been treated to what has been regarded by some as the greatest first round series in NHL history. I don't know about that but many of the series were exciting and now the stakes get a little higher as more teams get eliminated. The 2nd round began yesterday with Vancouver beating Nashville 1-0 and the rest of the matchups have perennial powerhouse Detroit taking on the San Jose Sharks while in the East, this year's Cinderella team the Tampa Bay Lightning face Alex Ovechkin's Washington Capitals while Boston and Philadelphia square off again in what is sure to be a heated battle after the Flyers stormed back from a 3-0 series deficit last year to stun the Bruins. What will happen this season? Your guess is as good as mine. I'm guessing a Boston-Detroit final with Boston winning in 7.

I'm calling Vancouver vs. Tampa Bay with Vancouver winning the Stanley Cup!

All I can say is I am happy that my two least favorite teams, the Blackhawks and Penguins, are out of it! :D
That was one of the best first rounds in recent memory.
I think Boston will beat Tampa Bay in the Eastern Conference Finals, although I wouldn't be shocked if Tampa Bay were to advance. I'm not sure if they are a Cinderella team. They only finished 4 points behind the Capitals. It looks like another early exit for Washington.
Vancouver will beat San Jose in the Western Conference Finals. I'm sure Vancouver would want to avoid Detroit if possible. Vancouver has to get by the pesky Predators first, of course.
Vancouver defeats Boston in 7 games in the Stanley Cup Finals.

Since the team that I cheer for didn't make the playoffs, Vancouver is the team that I wouldn't mind winning the cup, however I now don't think that is going to happen.
It's too bad this thread wasn't here exactly a week ago when Vancouver was heading to game 7. I would have like to have seen if posters here were nervous about Vancouver winning. I sure was. I was so relieved that Vancouver won. Both the media & non-fans would have had a field day had Vancouver lost.

Well...Columbus is MIA in the Playoffs again and if they're not careful...they'll be The Cleveland Blue Jackets!
But I think The Flyers should win it all...Philadelphia deserves another championship.
I also feel sorry that Buffalo won't be having a taste of a Championship. ohno:

i haven't really had a chance to watch many of the games, but i'm thinking we are going to see Vancouver vs Tampa Bay in the final - probably going to 7 games
I want the Canucks to win, but have my doubts about their ability to follow through, especially after those lopsided losses to Chicago

My Kings are out, but it looks like Vancouver will win regardless of who they play. They're so deep, with production coming from all four lines. No team has their third and fourth lines producing like Vancouver's are.
