I know Tina Louise has done a few things since 'Gilligan's Island' went off the air, but nothing nearly as successful as the hit syndicated sitcom. Did it hurt her that she never wanted to be recognized for her work as Ginger Grant?

Tina believed that Ginger did hurt her career. The funny things is, that the character of Ginger Grant was a much bigger star in the story, than Tina ever was. Ginger talked about doing movies with Rock Hudson and Cary Grant, but Tina never even got close. I guess sometimes it's better to be a made up character than a real person.

No matter how hard she tried to fight it, Tina was typecasted as Ginger. The only other signifigant part she had was as J.R.'s mistress in 'Dallas', and even that role had elements of Ginger to it.
