I always assumed his first television appearance was also with Lucille Ball in 1951 on I Love Lucy, but it appears he first appeared on television on April 15, 1949 in an episode of an anthology series called Your Show Time, a full two-and-a-half years before I Love Lucy. He also appeared on another anthology series, The Silver Theatre, in 1950. old grouch 04-27-2011, 09:36 AM William Frawley's brief cameo was probably the funniest moment ever on 'The Lucy Show'. And Lucy saying 'He reminds me of somebody I used to know' was the perfect punchline. Benno123 04-27-2011, 05:09 PM Yes, that was his last television appearance. He also appeared on another anthology series, The Silver Theatre, in 1950. He also appeared in a "commercial"/"skit" for Camel Cigarettes on The Ed Wynn Show sometimes in the 1949-1950 season. It was the show with the Three Stooges appearing, and I have the date somewhere but not available to me at the moment. |
