I sounded incredibly dorky, overcooked and off-key (almost like bad karaoke) when compared to the classic Pratt & McClain theme. It was just a completely awkward attempt at updating it.

I agree, it totally sucks. The "update" has the main harmony below the original, the little liberties they take with the rhythms, the sax solo.... and for the longtime fans used to the original version, this just isn't "right", and really irritates me.

I like it. I always used to look forward to when season 11 came around, and the theme song was one of the reasons.

The only thing I like are the scenes. H/J, F/C..

I didn't like the theme either, but I did like the scenes used in the opening.

I don't see why they updated the theme if it was only used for one season, the last one. In syndication, they should have just stuck with the old one that everyone knows. Anyone, the scenes are still good. The new jukebox is nice, though. They actually used the old jukebox in the closing of the first three episodes of Season 11, and then began using the new one in the closing of the 4th episode.

They probably didn't think it would be the last season at the time

I liked the last season theme, both the music and visuals.

Agreed. Not every theme song needs to be updated, and the original one (the second theme, not "Rock Around The Clock") was iconic. Don't mess with the classics.

They had to have known, or least had an inkling that this would be it. The show was getting clobbered in the ratings by Mr. T and The A-Team.

For the sake of consistency, they should have kept the same opening sequence and the same singer who sang the Happy Days theme since 1975.

And I respectfully disagree with your opinion of the season 11 theme, because I thought it was positively wretched.
