Lindsay Lohan Nixed From Gotti Pic

Despite getting the blessing of the Gottis and posing arm in arm with them at the press conference for their late father's biopic, Lindsay Lohan will not be playing Victoria Gotti.

Marc Fiore, the producer of Gotti: Three Generations, announced today that he's ended negotiations with the troubled actress.






Fiore reportedly was weary of the various demands of Lohan's camp, telling TMZ, "I will only ride a merry-go-round with my kids." Although he added, "Maybe if Lindsay calls me up, maybe we can talk about it."

This week also saw the departure of director Nick Cassavetes from the biopic.





The only talent still on board: John Travolta, who'll play mobster John Gotti and Joe Pesci, who'll play Gotti associate Angelo Ruggiero. Yet to be cast, John Gotti Jr, who opted to leave the family business.

Production is still expected to begin this fall with a late 2012 release date.

I think she has to clear up the legal issues she's currently going through before that could happen. Her hearing is coming up soon regarding that stolen necklace incident.

I mean, just like Wesley Snipes who's currently in prison, it's hard to get (decent) work with legal issues surrounding you.

Good point!! Not to sound mean, but Lindsay just looks SCARY these days. She's not even 25 yet, and she looks about 10 years older than that. Frightening. :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek:

Update: Lindsay Lohan will be in the John Gotti biopic after all, just not as Victoria Gotti. Variety reports she's now signed to play the wife of John Gotti, Jr.

I saw that on the news last night - I thought they hadn't heard that she'd been dropped. They didn't mention it. I guess we'll just have to see what happens now!!

What I've been reading is that news of her coming back on the project was released only a few hours after the word came that she'd been dropped.

I read that Lohan has signed a two-picture deal after they worked out some last minute agreement.

Interesting...

I for one don't care if she ever acts again.

I just read that she was sentenced 120 days for violating her parole by stealing that necklace.

After a topsy-turvy day in court, Lindsay Lohan was found in violation of probation – and sentenced to four months in jail – on Friday, for allegedly stealing a $2,500 necklace.

The actress, who was allowed to post bail, was also sentenced to 480 hours of community service by a Los Angeles judge.

Lohan arrived at Lynwood Jail – her fourth trip to the facility – where she will be processed and, according to a sheriff rep, released "in the very near future," most likely Friday night.

Earlier in the day, Lohan, 24, scored a legal victory when Judge Stephanie Sautner reduced her felony grand theft charge to a misdemeanor. Because of this, Lohan was granted $75,000 bail for the probation violation while pending appeal.

Her trial for the misdemeanor theft case is set for June 3.

Who else feels that once the sentence is appealed (which you know her lawyers are going to do), she'll more likely serve about four days instead? Special treatment and all? :rolleyes:

The latest update is that Lohan is now free after posting $75,000 bail.

Her next trial is set for June 3rd.

Lohan Still Onboard Gotti Movie

Producers behind Lindsay Lohan's new movie are adamant the actress is still onboard the project, despite a looming 120-day jail sentence.

Lohan recently signed a two-picture agreement with Fiore Films, with her first role starring alongside John Travolta in upcoming mobster movie Gotti: Three Generations.






A spokesman for Fiore Films, Steve Honig, has now confirmed Lohan is still attached to the Gotti picture as long as her legal troubles don't stop her from working.

He tells the New York Daily News:

"She is still in the film provided she can fulfil her obligations. She has been cast in this role. She still has the role and we're very excited about her being in the movie. We're not going to speculate on 'What if this happens, what if that happens.' We're dealing with a few unknowns.

Once we start understanding exactly what the situation is, that's when we can start making some decisions."

It was recently announced that Chazz Palminteri has joined the cast of Gotti: In the Shadow of My Father in the role of Mafia Don Paul Castellano.

(He played the role previously in a TNT movie Boss of Bosses back in 2001)
