In the article above, Vic Tayback talks about his frustrations with the show during the first season. Different writers, producers and directors were all used and there were reshoots but nobody let Vic in on why they were reshooting scenes. He was totally confused as to what the show was. He wasn't even sure the show was a sitcom.

The place couldn't have exactly been a happy place later on once the Lavin/Holliday feud took on steam. No wonder Mr. Tayback took young Philip McKeon under his wing (took him to ballgames and such with his own son, who was about the same age as Philip).

Linda Lavin and Diane Ladd feuded too that drove Diane off the show. The show was never the same after Linda's behavior towards Polly Holliday and Diane Ladd. You can see the tension between Linda and Polly in her final season on the show the way Linda rolls her eyes at her.

That's too bad for Vic Tayback. He was the best part of the show.

He should have have a spinoff of alice after the show left the airwaves 26 years ago.

I do have it. It looks and sounds pretty darn bad, but I'll upload it anyway. If anyone's interested in Alice videos on Youtube, I'm pretty much the only one that posts the full episodes, username: "fenjazszc07".
