In the article above, Vic Tayback talks about his frustrations with the show during the first season. Different writers, producers and directors were all used and there were reshoots but nobody let Vic in on why they were reshooting scenes. He was totally confused as to what the show was. Linda Lavin and Diane Ladd feuded too that drove Diane off the show. The show was never the same after Linda's behavior towards Polly Holliday and Diane Ladd. You can see the tension between Linda and Polly in her final season on the show the way Linda rolls her eyes at her.

We need a video of that.
