I have merged all threads related to being named after characters to one thread - I think it makes most sense to have them all at the same place. If anyone has anything to add, please post them here as well, instead of starting a new thread about it.

I was named after Mallory on "Family Ties." My parents loved the show so much and the name so much, that they named me after Mallory. Except that I'm not ditzy like Mallory is. Although, I wish I was like her, because she is hilarious! Oh, and except that I spell my name different: Melorie. But it's said the same way.

This is funny. My fiiend Elyse was named after Elyse Keaton. Even spelled the same way. We were watching family ites the other day nad Elsye was being snobby in the show and my friendwas like " I was named after a snob!" so now I hang it over her head. Just thought i'd share that vital piece of info! (just kidding)

I wasn't named directly after a Family Ties cast member, but there are a few coincidences with my name. My full name is Steven Michael Cross. Michael Gross plays Steve Keaton. "Steve Michael Gross"- only two letters difference. That and my grandpa has always called me Michael J. Fox ever since I can remember.
