I know there were some silly Flintstone spinoffs for kids in the 70's and 80's, but how about a new Flintstones animated series in the ilk of say the Simpsons or Family Guy? Could it work?

If they stick to the same themes as the original show than yes. The themes in the original show were timeless. Marriage, friendship, career, family. Those themes will always appeal to TV viewers in any era.

"The Flinstones" may work as a new show. We have many reincarnations of animated shows ("The Looney Tunes Show" is the latest one) so...why not?

I don't know. None of the spinoffs were very good and the original voice cast are long gone. I'd rather just watch the classic Flintstones.

Don't give anybody any ideas!! The Flintstones in the format of The Family Guy? That would be horrible.

Well..."The Flinstones" ARE getting remade...by none other than Seth McFarlane, and no surprise he'll work on "The Jetsons".

It may work if they stick to the original premise and also use good background music like in the orginal. This was one of the reasons the show worked so well along with a good voice cast that had chemistry.

I have high hopes for the reboot. It can't be any worse than the aforementioned revivals from the '70s, '80s and '90s.

Hopefully they find a good voice actor for Fred. I'm sorry, but Henry Corden was a terrible Fred. He sounded nothing like Alan Reed.
