I was doing random reading today and for whatever reason, this one case popped in my head,I dont remember if it was even on UM or cold case files or what have you, about a guy in the 50s or 60s that murdered his whole family (his wife, mother, and two or three kids). I kept thinking it was William Bradford Bishop, but thats an entirely different case. This guy left the bodies in one room of their house, turned the air down ridiculously low to slow the decay of the bodies, and the creepiest part..he turned on classical music that played repetitively until the bodies were found. He had told his work and the childrens' schools that they would be on vacation,so no one thought to check for a while.Anyway, the gist of it is that the guy was long gone and the case had gone cold. They got one of those brilliant sculptors that puts a face back on a skull or age enhances a person in a clay model, and someone called in and he was arrested. The part that stuck out in my head was that the sculptor had selected almost the exact type of frame that the guy had chosen in his older age just based on a limited amount of info about his personality.
Does anyone know the name of this guy? Ive been googling to no avail for the last twenty minutes and I think I may go mad. Thank you in advance for jour cooperation.

You must be thinking of John List, who killed his entire family in 1971. He was never profiled on Unsolved Mysteries, but he was the subject of numerous TV shows, including America's Most Wanted (which resulted in his 1989 capture) and Forensic Files (episode: "The List Murders"). Also, Robert Blake played John List in the 1993 TV-movie Judgment Day: The John List Story.

Google "John List" for more information on the case.
