In late 2008, I mentioned on this board losing a former co-worker and friend,
Missy, to breast cancer. Last week, I lost a former classmate and friend, Tom,
to lung, bone and liver cancer. Although I hadn't seen or spoken to Tom in
decades, I feel a deep sense of loss. Death is so final. I know I'll never see his smile or hear his voice again. Each of us is only here for a relatively brief
time. I guess the best we can do is to make the most of the time we have together. Peace.

I'm very sorry Karl. I lost a classmate to cancer a few years ago. I didn't even know of it. I accidentally found out on the internet. I hadn't seen him since I left HS. I'm very sorry for your loss. You are right, we are only here for a short time. :(

I'm sorry to hear about your loss too. Cancer is such a devastating illness - to all around. I lost a very respected colleague in a class of mine. She had pancreatic cancer.

I truly feel bad for you in your present time of personal losses
and the sorrow that will understandably go along with them.
Although they're gone forever ,try to remember your departed
