Hey all,

Hoping some of the more computer savvy out there can help with this one.

I'm trying to find the easiest way to use a video recorded from the screen in an .avi format as a wallpaper. I've read that Divx can give you a way to do this. I've got Divx, but when I go to convert the recorded file to that format it won't let me. Any other programs I should use, or something else I should be doing?

Thanks!

use VLC media player (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/)

Play the video in VLC player. Right click on VLC player and select Wallpaper. The video will now play in your desktop background as a wallpaper.

...of course you'd better have a machine that is capable of doing it if you really want this.

The video I want to use was recorded from the screen by CamStudio. For some reason, it will not play in VLC, only Divx. A different "how to" site claims there's a way to set this video as wallpaper using Divx, but it won't work (tells me that I can find a "desktop" option in the "Playback" mode in Divx, but there isn't one).

DivX is a file codec not a player - what program are you using to play this DivX file?
