catlover79 04-08-2011, 05:12 PM Woohoo!!!! :D
McGillicuddy 04-08-2011, 07:12 PM It sounds like the TVland Awards, is open to anybody whoever was part of the cast of TFOL. I think it would make sense if they keep the GMA segment limited to Charlotte, Lisa, Kim, Mindy and Nancy. Though I love Cloris Leachman on TMTMS and Phyllis, I think it would be a distraction to have her at this reunion!
While I kind of agree, I feel like if Cloris wants to take part they will let her just in the sense that she's a tv legend. Maybe not from FOL, but I can't see anybody saying no to Cloris if she wants to take part. But it probably would be a tad weird for her since usually people want to talk about the early days of the show.
folbartman 04-09-2011, 08:20 PM Any person who was a regular cast member on the facts of life should be included because they were a part of the team, so I disagree with you.
Season One Cast
Pamela Seagull
George Clooney
Mackenzie Astin
Sherrie Krenn
Cloris Leachman
Johnny be good! 04-10-2011, 01:17 PM I second that. I love "Good Morning America", and I'm 21 years old. Robin, George, Josh, and Sam will love the FOL cast.

I totally agree.

Well, O.K. Cloris can be there! But she better not try to be the center of attention!!
Classicshowsgurl15 04-10-2011, 05:55 PM Awesome! I'll have to record it because I will miss it otherwise. I hope it's good.
I've read that there will also be a reunion on NBC's Today on Monday morning. I didn't see it listed on their original press release for the week, so it must have been a last minute addition.
Riley Martin 04-11-2011, 10:17 PM I watched parts of "Today" this morning and didn't see a thing... oh well if it happened maybe NBC or one of the SO'rs will put it up on Youtube.
jayman75 04-12-2011, 08:59 AM A little behind-the-scenes (http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Entertainment/video/facts-life-reunion-behind-the-scenes-13354707) with Cynthia McFadden (Mindy gets some make-up help).
jayman75 04-12-2011, 09:43 AM Full interview w/Cynthia McFadden (http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Entertainment/video/facts-life-cast-reunites-gma-13354952?tab=9482931§ion=1206836&playlist=2898870)... All the cast, including Cloris and Geri...
Great interview - 8:30 minutes long.

Full interview from ABC News...
I am a bit disappointed that the Q&A that was planned (we could send in questions) did not occur - unless that's still to come. Still, the girls look awesome!
LOVED IT!!!! LOVED IT LOVED IT!!! especially when lisa says "We can do this for cake"!! lol!
catlover79 04-12-2011, 08:28 PM They all look wonderful!! :D
McGillicuddy 04-12-2011, 08:40 PM I'm glad Cloris was there, afterall. Geri too!
catlover79 04-12-2011, 08:43 PM Is this the first time Charlotte and Cloris have appeared jointly for a FOL-related event?
fol_fan1989 04-12-2011, 09:05 PM LOVED IT!!!! LOVED IT LOVED IT!!! especially when lisa says "We can do this for cake"!! lol!
Me too!
jayman75 04-12-2011, 09:39 PM Is this the first time Charlotte and Cloris have appeared jointly for a FOL-related event?
Yep. I don't think Cloris has ever been on a FOL event since the show ended.
catlover79 04-12-2011, 09:43 PM ^ That's what I thought. Thanks!! :D
RaleighFOLfan 04-12-2011, 10:06 PM It was so nice to see them all together again.
McGillicuddy 04-12-2011, 10:33 PM Here's something interesting though, Charlotte Rae guest starred on an episode of Phyllis back in the '70's. So Charlotte and Cloris acted together at least once!
ComedyGuy 04-12-2011, 10:47 PM That was awesome and they all looked great.
I actually thought I remember hearing that Charlotte and Cloris were once roommates, obviously way pre-FOL. Maybe at like the beginning of their careers? But I don't remember where I heard that.
JoPol_wannabe 04-12-2011, 11:30 PM This interview just made more excited for the award show. They all looked great and so happy. It's so neat to see how well they all get along with each other. That's one reason I love Facts of life, not just cause it's a great show but becuase all the actresses turned out to be such wonderful women, like Charolette said they all turned out straight. I wish it was sunday tomorrow. 4 more days :yippee:

I don't know, but I do know they both went to acting school with Paul Lynde (Bewitched, Hollywood Squares).

I never knew that. Thanks!!

I loved when one of them pointed out to Charlotte that the word straight has more than one meaning!! She felt so bad since Geri Jewell has recently announced that she is gay. Poor Charlotte!
catlover79 04-13-2011, 03:00 AM I think that would be what's known as a Freudian slip!! :o
Marvo301 04-13-2011, 02:11 PM I think that would be what's known as a Freudian slip!! :o
Yup!!
fol_fan1989 04-13-2011, 02:35 PM It would have been nice to have had as many of them as possible. One question, though....Who was Sherrie Krenn? I'm ashamed to say I don't recall that name.
Sherrie Krenn played Pippa, the Austrailian exchange student, late in the series. I think she joined either the eighth or ninth season.
ajm1972 04-13-2011, 03:27 PM Didnt Charlotte Rae and Cloris Leachmen appear on FOL together in the episode that set up Rae leaving (wedding) and Leachmen joining the cast??
Also why do they say its the first time in 20 years the cast has gotten together, what about the reunion movies?
Also why do they say its the first time in 20 years the cast has gotten together, what about the reunion movies?[/QUOTE]
They said that because it is the first time that the entire cast has been together since the show ended. :D
ajm1972 04-13-2011, 03:50 PM I dont know why I thought McKeon appeared in the reunion movie and I thought there was more than one, maybe I was thinking of something else...the girls from the earlier seasons should have been invited back....yes I remember the episode when Rae got married, I think it was a two part episode, it ended with her being asked to get married and move to africa..but she didnt want to leave the girls, that is when leachmen was brought in as her sister...this was to open the 8th season as I recall...I havent seen it in 25 years though!!
McGillicuddy 04-13-2011, 03:58 PM The Facts of Life in Paris and The Facts of Life Down Under, came out during the series, which may be confusing with the reunion movie, which McKeon was not in.
jayman75 04-13-2011, 04:08 PM "Out of Peekskill" is the final episode with Mrs. Garrett, and it opened the eighth season of the show. Beverly Ann does appear in this two-part episode (which is available on youtube)
catlover79 04-13-2011, 04:20 PM ^ OK, thanks for clarifying!!
RaleighFOLfan 04-13-2011, 05:10 PM I loved when one of them pointed out to Charlotte that the word straight has more than one meaning!! She felt so bad since Geri Jewell has recently announced that she is gay. Poor Charlotte!
She looked truly mortified some would think she meant her girls grew up to be heterosexual.
They all looked wonderful!! :D

When Charlotte first said that during the award acceptance, I thought she was making a joke--then I thought she was refering to Meredith Baxter's coming out in recent years. Some of the others had some pretty shocked expressions on their faces, but it turns out she just meant her "girls" turned out well.
During the GMA interview, Charlotte was clearly embarrassed about what she said, but I think everyone, including Geri, got a good laugh out of it!!

That's good. It's nice to know Geri didn't take offense, and that she knew what Charlotte really meant.
Mr. Television 04-13-2011, 10:12 PM It's ironic that Charlotte was a member of 2 sitcoms that had kid actors turn out so different. If only the Diff'rent Strokes kids had followed the lead from the girls from The Facts of Life.
jayman75 04-13-2011, 10:24 PM Don't blame the sitcom... blame the parents. It's exactly like Charlotte said on GMA - good parenting is what led her girls to be "straight." :)
catlover79 04-13-2011, 11:02 PM ^ BINGO!!
blairmusica 04-18-2011, 02:36 PM awesome, and it was 8 minutes long, really nice of GMA, they all look great! This is the healthiest I've seen Geri Jewell look in ages, good for her. I love Lisa's "do it for cake" line too, God, I love that woman!!
catlover79 05-16-2011, 09:30 PM .
Warm & Fuzzy 05-19-2011, 09:46 AM WOW! Thanks for sharing, TJ!!
Gemini_89 02-23-2016, 06:17 PM I wonder when something like this can happen again where they all appear in the same room together, 'sighs'......
