In my opinion he's the second best crime show host next to Robert Stack.

I honestly think he could get UM back to somewhat like it was when it was on Lifetime and being hosted by Stack.

What do you all think?

I agree...it's something about the voice. Lifetime is currently airing a lot of American Justice (right before UM....I get excited for 3 hours of AJ and UM).

I think Bill would be great to host UM, but I don't think it will ever happen. He would have been better than Farina.

I think this would be great. I wonder if he has already been approached about this (like, before Dennis Farina).

Bill Kurtis is currently doing local evening news in Chicago (where he was an anchorman long before he started doing shows for A&E).

I really like Bill Kurtis. I think he would be a great host. Also, I'm not sure of his name but maybe somebody else knows but the guy who originally narrated "Cold Case Files" on A&E had a creepy Stack-like voice. He would also be a good host.

Oh I love Bill Kurtis...... I would watch him host a snail race. Love his voice. :)

I think he would be a great fit. If UM were to get him to host, go back to the old theme (maybe modernize it just a bit, but nothing like spike did) and back to old music. I think that would return the show to glory.

What would happen? I would be so excited that I couldn't handle it and it would drive me to insanity!!!

I think that would be great but I wonder if he would leave his news job to go back to hosting shows. He could make even the most boring cases sound exciting.

The men who narrate The First 48 and Forensic Files would also be good.

Yeah, I also think the Forensic Files host Peter Thomas would do very well on UM, but he is a very old man I don't think he would be up for a new gig but... you never know.

I'd say the real issue is that Peter Thomas lives in Florida and the UM studio is located in California. Therefore, in order to do UM, he would probably have to either uproot to California or live there during the months UM is in production. But he would probably have to leave FF to do UM, since their production schedules could end up conflicting with each other.

Cold Case Files is also narrated by Bill Kurtis.

I must say Bill Kurtis does have the "Stack Effect" whereas RS would say "Perhaps you can help solve a mystery"

at the end of all the American Justice episodes BK says "For American Justice, (pauses 3 secs then looks directly into the camera), I'm Bill Kurtis"

Another Name to consider would be Keith David, he was host of "City Confidential" (currently airing on the Bio Channel) after Paul Winfield passed away.
