Clues explained:

Live in a Mansion---The Addams Mansion

Useful Roles---as you know-- did anything,,got cigars and lite them, helped with yarn, got mail, greeted people by taking their hat, helped around the house etc.

Never saw ME--- (I know this was the hardest clue to understand)
Originally the creature was considered to be too grotesque and hideous to be shown. It lived in a closet or watch from upstairs, but did have human hands. So it was later shown like a disembodied hand and forearm and was moved to a box....did you notice that I had italicized the word ME?

Usually I'm right---Ted Cassidy, who also played Lurch, played the THING--sometimes he would use his left hand, just to see if anyone would notice.

Was able to change - grapes into wine - under a minute---self explanatory.

FOUR NEW CLUES:

A picture could ruin the character's career
First show that the Character was in, had a dummy as a partner.
First show was a form of sitcom for younger viewers
Three people played the Character and a forth in the sitcom 20 years later.

If you can't get it from these, I have three more clues that can be given

R U Clarabell the clown from Howdy Doody?

BINGO!! We have a winner!
THANK GOODNESS

I apologize for some of my clues, because they were misleding as I found out later.
I really stink at giving clues:(
( I guess I need to do more research before giving clues.)
I knew that the Howdy Doody Show was on in the 50's, but didn't know it started in the late 40's (1947-1960)
I also thought that it ended in 1954, but that was when Black & White ended and then Color began (1955-1960)
Happy Days espisode #33 aired on Feburary 18 1975...Titled-"The Howdy Doody Show."
They remade The Howdy Doody Show that air from August 1976-January 1977 (130 espisodes) which I didn't even know.

Clues explained:
Character started as a partner on a show- The silent mute partner on Howdy-Doody
Spoke only two words-Was spoken on the final Howdy-Doody show of 1960--
(I thought the show ended in 1954, but that was only the Black & White shows)
Character appeared 20 years later on a sitcom In 1975
(Bonus if you know the two words)--"Goodbye Kids"

Sitcom was very popular- "Happy Days"

Sitcom was set during the time I got my start-1950's (But actually in was late forties, and through the 50's when Howdy Doody was popular--my misled.)
The host of the original show, was also a guest star on sitcom, his intials B.B.S.- Buffalo Bob Smith
The sitcom episode (20 years later) was all about ME (My Character)- Espisode #33 of "Happy Days" aired in 1975 and was about getting a picture of Clarabell without makeup

A picture could ruin the character's career- A picture taken without makeup on could have ruin his career.
First show that the Character was in, had a dummy as a partner.-A dummy "Howdy Doody" puppet.
First show was a form of sitcom for younger viewers- It was definitely a "children's show"
Three people played the Character and a forth in the sitcom 20 years later- They were: The first was Bob Keeshan, who later became Captain Kangaroo. Keeshan was succeeded by Robert "Nick" Nicholson, who also played the character of J. Cornelius Cobb on The Howdy Doody Show. Lew Anderson was the third and last person to play Clarabell on The Howdy Doody Show. The fourth was Robert Brunner on the "Happy Days" set

No, the ''Julia" she was talking about was Julia Baker (Diahann Carroll), a young African-American woman working as a nurse. She is also a widow (her husband died in Vietnam) trying to raise a young son (Marc Copage) alone. (that was already guess by Zoneboy)

The Doris Day Show was a popular sitcom for 5 seasons, yet it almost was like a new show every season. I would give a recap of THE CLUES, but this might be easier:

It quickly became a series marked for it's constant premise changes, with only one constant, Doris Day played Doris Martin for all five years.

During the first season, Doris Martin was a widow raising two young sons, Billy and Toby, on her own. The Martins lived on a family ranch and much of the storylines revolved around them adjusting to rural living. The ranch was run by Buck Webb, Leroy B. Simpson was the hired hand and Aggie was the housekeeper who was replaced by Juanita in late 1968.

The second season saw a few changes. Doris got a job as a secretary for a magazine in San Fancisco, called Today's World. Thus, she commuted daily to work from the ranch. New characters were added, Michael Nicholson was the editor and boss, Ron Harvey was the assistant editor and Myrna Gibbons was another secretary.

The third season had additional changes in that Doris, Toby, Billy and their dog, Lord Nelson, moved into an apartment in San Francisco. The apartment was owned by Angie Palucci and her husband Louie who also ran an Italian restaurant on the first floor. This season also saw Doris moving on up and she began writing some stories for the magazine.

The fourth season saw the most dramatic change yet, Doris was still working for Today's World but now she was a single, staff writer, who no longer had children or a dog. She was a single working girl. Cy Bennett was her new boss and Jackie Parker was his secretary.

After a long line of changes, both the fourth and fifth season stayed the same, premise-wise

Mr. Drysdale?

Strike three!

Zoneboy

Mr. Drysdale

Correct!

The death & taxes clue was meant for both the actor & character.

Raymond Bailey died on April 15th, 1980. Kinda fitting for a banker I'd say.

My next clue was going to be....

A baseball player who shares my last name appeared on our show.

I was right? I never saw the show. I just knew they had a banker named Mr. Drysdale ( As a sports guy, now Don Drysdale, him I know).

I see your point but I thought the Clampetts considered the Drysdales to be their friends.

By just hearing my name you might not know if I am male or female !

Yelp probably wouldn't give me a good rating!

I was in love with someone, but the feeling wasn't really mutual!

Mel Sharples?

Mel could be short for Melvin or Melanie
The diner wouldn't get rave reviews
The 3rd clue I'm not sure about which is why I'm questioning my reply.

Yes!!

Ralph, the lady carpenter :)

Her and her brother Alf were very slow in their carpentry work. The Douglas's bedroom wasn't even finished after six seasons! :D If Yelp were around than, they probably wouldn't get a good review!

Ralph LOVED Hank Kimball, but he didn't feel the same for her. Although one time they did get married, but turned out it wasn't legal because Mr. Drucker's Justice of the peace license expired, much to Mr. Kimball's relief! :D
