My Dad went in the hospital yesterday. He was having trouble keeping his breath. I'm hoping he'll be home soon but I sure would appreciate you all keeping us in your prayers. :)

I just got back from the hospital. They said he'll be there another day or two. He's going to have to use some oxygen tanks at home. While I was there, he tried to get up and knocked his I-V out of his arm. It never ends.

Well, that's not too bad. Hang in there, I'm sure more stress is on the way, but at least your dad's coming home. Do you mind if I ask if he'll be on oxygen all the time or just when sleeping?

It sounds like he's going to have to use them all the time...at least at first. He had to use them about 5 or 6 years ago but he was off them after about a week. This is his first major problem in about 3 years. He was taken all the way to Hershey then. We thought he would have to have bypass surgery but luckily it wasn't as bad as everyone thought. He takes quite a few different meds a day as well. What's strange is when I was a kid my Dad was hardly ever sick. In fact he didn't start having his heart problems until 2000. It all came as a big shock to everyone.

Well, lots of reason to be optimistic.

He's got a good chance of being off the oxygen after a while, it sounds like. He doesn't have to have surgery. And he's home, with you.
