I read she fell into a coma for no reason back in 2005 and actually woke up feeling fine, only to die a few days later. Does anybody know??? What a tragedy! :(

I don't know if they ever found out for sure. Ironically, today would've been her 58th birthday (born April 2, 1953) and died just 3 days after turning 52 (April 5, 2005).

Sadly, she lost her fiance, a NYC Port Authority officer, during the 9/11 attacks on the WTC. :( Just a sad turn of events for a beautiful, talented lady who seemed just as genuine and nice in real life.

I read somewhere that she never recovered from her fiance's death and turned to alcohol to self medicate eventually becoming an alcoholic. I expect that was a contributing factor in her death. :(

That may very well have been a factor because one report said something was wrong with her liver - cirrhosis, maybe?

If there was something wrong with her liver that could certainly indicate that her drinking contributed to her death.
