Has this ever happened? Mr. Television 04-02-2011, 08:49 AM the 1979 sitcom Makin It with David Naughton. According to Wikipedia it made it up to #5. I don't know if a song ever made it to #1 off a flop but I remember Makin It was played all over the radio during that time...long after the show left the air. The Heights hit #1 with the theme from The Heights ("How Do You Talk to an Angel") while the series lasted only 1 season (13 episodes) Only 4 tv themes have ever hit #1 on the Billboard singles charts.
