FX Picks Up "Justified" For Third Season
Mar 29, 2011
by Kate Stanhope

FX has ordered a third season of "Justified", the network announced Tuesday.

The hit drama, created by Graham Yost and starring Timothy Olyphant, is based on the popular Elmore Leonard character Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens.

After becoming the second-highest series premiere in FX history in 2010, Season 2 has averaged 3.9 million viewers and 2 million adults ages 18-49, a 15 and 18 percent rise, respectively.

"'Justified' was a critically acclaimed hit series in its first season, but the show has far surpassed our expectations this season," FX President and General Manager John Landgraf said.

"Graham Yost and his team of writers are delivering some of the richest stories anywhere on TV and are doing a brilliant job of being true to Elmore Leonard's original character, Raylan Givens. We couldn't be more proud of the work everyone has done."

No word yet on when the series will return for its 13-episode third season.
"Justified" will wrap Season 2 on May 4.

Great news. I just love this show. Timothy Olyphant is fantastic as Raylan Givens. Margo Martindale as Mags Bennett is great too. It's like a modern day Hatfields and McCoys.

It's not on right now. Season 3 starts early next year probably.
