Jennifer as she got older, always seemed to speak in a sort of dry/monotone manner. She was way more spunky and engaging when she was a little kid.

Family Ties was one of the great family oriented shows of the 80s. It's too bad that you can't find the same TV today. This show never jumped, although it would have if they continued the series after Alex left home for his dream job on Wall Street. The producers ended the show exactly when it should have ended. If there was one thing that really irked me though, it was Tina Yothers' (Jennifer) acting ability. In the first couple of seasons she didn't do a bad job playing the role of a little kid. But as she got older, it is clear that her acting abilities didn't mature with her. In fact, they got worse. Her monotone voice and emotionless facial expressions were both evidence of that. One of the producers should have pulled her aside and said something like "lighten up!"
