I remember Tom Bosley's Glad Bad commercials although I always preffered the original "Man from Glad"!

I was going to say, not only do I remember Tom's ads, but also the original Man From Glad. Who always kinda creeped me out - I mean, he was always just showing up at housewive's back kitchen doors! ;)

Anybody remember Mr. Bosley's infomercial for SMC (Specialty Merchandise Corporation)?

I love the spoof they did of that on The Carol Burnett Show with Carol as a hapless housewife who had all these commercial pitchmen showing up at her kitchen door one after the other! Hilarious!

I remember those commercials very well as a kid growing up in the 80s. I loved it when Ron Howard did one of those "Celebrity Secrets" bits on Late Night With Conan O'Brien. He said, "I once saw Tom Bosley kill a man for using Hefty brand garbage bags. He then useed a GLAD bag to dispose of the body. I respect a man who believes in the product he endorses!" :rofl:

That was a GREAT skit. TV commericials were so well known back in the '70s and '80s -- phrases like "ring around the collar," "where's the beef," "talking to trash," "Shout it out," and "silly rabbit [Trix are for kids]" became big parts of daily vocabulary.

UGH! To this very day, I can still recite word by word, the old Calgon detergent booster ad - the one with the young Chinese couple in a laundry (like they'd get away with that these days! LOL)

I remember these commercials fondly.

One of my all-time favorite moments from Happy Days was when Howard walked in with a "brand new" product he had just gotten in to sell at his store - a plastic garbage can liner! Nobody knew what it was supposed to be. Chachi said, "You're gonna have a heck of a time blowing that up, Mr. C!" LOL funny stuff!

Yes I do remember SMC. I tried thier seller program once but it didn't pan out for me.

I also remember seeing Bosley on Rod Serlings Night Gallery. He played opposite Joan Crawford. Crawford played a rich sellf obsorbed woman who was blind. Bosley played a guy who was in deep with gamblers and sold his eyes to have transplanted in Crawford so she could see for the first time. The end of the story was unexpected and sad too, but fitting for Crawford's character.
