View Full Version : Charlie Sheen
treky 03-22-2011, 03:42 AM do you think CBS should hire him back for "TWO AND A HALF MEN"?
In case you haven't heard, now they want to.
I don't think they should, and if they do they're crazy!!!
Adamantium 03-22-2011, 01:56 PM This is like a girl I know. She has a live-in boyfriend who doesn't have a job or car. He "poked" her in the eye once when they had an argument and she told me she was gonna break up with him. I was proud of her for getting out of it. Then, she changed her mind. She doesn't like living alone (she told me) and she ended up staying with him.
Much like how CBS/WB fired Sheen (which I was proud of them for) now they want him back.
TripperFan 03-22-2011, 02:01 PM I think they're crazy for even considering it. What kind of message does that send out?
Shows that hollywierd is a totally different world from the rest of us.
Frankly I hope he goes on this stupid "tour" and it ends up closing half way through because crowds walk out in the middle of his ranting.
This equates to watching a mentally disturbed money go nuts at the zoo.
catlover79 03-22-2011, 02:20 PM Stupid, stupid, stupid - and did I say STUPID???
YES YES..yes! They should.. He's not crazy just need to go to rehab. He's a fine actor, that's his personal life. This isn't like the days of the old movie system when they dictate and controlled how you conducted yourself. This is 2011, not 1941...

No it's not, but we still are a civilized society (well....supposedly!) and in the private sector, corporate, blue collar, public service, whatever, when you start to go off on total rants publicly about your bosses, you get your ass canned! That's when it really put me off. Before that, I would totally agree with you, but he crossed the big bad line when he started on Chuck Lorre et al - doesn't matter what Lorre did on his tag signoff.
Lewis84 03-25-2011, 09:24 AM In my opinion yes. Some shows can get away with losing a star and continue successfully, but I can't see Two and a Half Men working without Sheen. It's just not set up in a way that they could swing that. Whether they opted to recast or write his character out, I think it would probably be the end of the show :(
Besides, while Charlie may have his issues, I don't feel he's done anything to warrant losing his job. Yes, I know how it goes. Mouth off about the boss and they'll boot you into the unemployment line. I'm aware of that, I just don't agree with it. To me, Charlie has a right to say whatever he wants. Freedom of speech and all that. Lorre doesn't have to like it, but as long as Sheen comes in there and does his job, I feel like that's the only thing that should matter. At least in a perfect world.

I knew someone was going to site the old "Freedom of Speech" crappola. Sorry, doesn't hold water. In the REAL world, that just isn't allowed. That's why kids get suspended publicly bashing a teacher, principal, etc. And that's why you DO get fired anywhere for mouthing off about the boss and/or company. Heck, you can even blow a new job opportunity by bashing a former boss at a job interview, even if you don't mention the company's name. It's a total trust and confidentiality thing and often is right in your employment contract with the employer (always has been with me anyway, I sign an agreement). You wouldn't want your company openly bashing you so why should they tolerate you doing it?
It's the same with after hours drinking and drugs. Many companies now can run random tests. Doesn't matter how well you do your job when you're there, or what position you hold - they find traces of drugs, or you come in repeatedly with stale alcohol on your breath and they can fire you.
And honestly, Sheen doesn't even play a character on the show - just himself - right down to using the same name. How hard can that be? I think Cryer and the kid make Charlie look better on the show than he probably is. I agree that the show probably can't continue without Sheen, but thems the breaks. Sad but true.
koalabears 03-31-2011, 12:35 AM I really hope Charlie Sheen does comes back! Without Charlie, the show will be NOTHING! Yes, I'm aware that they have a great supporting cast that make Charlie look "good", but Charlie is the anchor of the show, & without him, the show will not succeed! I could care less what he does in his private life! What he needs to do is make a public apology, go to rehab, & just to continue on with the show!
