View Full Version : What are some of the best broadcast/cable networks on right now?
mets82 03-20-2011, 09:25 PM The question is self explanatory. What broadcast network (ABC,FOX etc.) is the best network right now? What is the best cable network (FX, USA, Spike etc.) is the best network right now? Now, these are based on your opinions.
dakert 03-20-2011, 10:10 PM The best cable network is TCM
Mr. Television 03-21-2011, 12:18 AM CBS is the best broadcast network.
mets82 04-17-2011, 03:42 PM I may have to put USA Network at the top of the list. I dont watch really anything on USA except for wrestling but it seems like they have hit show after hit show.
ryan423 04-17-2011, 08:08 PM TBS is BY FAR my favorite network. If you take away According to Jim, Tyler Perry's (FILL IN THE BLANK), and Yes Dear, I could watch that network all day! I DVR Conan every night, and while his monologues aren't anything great, Lopez's interviews are quite good. With Big Bang Theory coming in the fall, I'm sure I'll be spending countless hours in front of the TV watching marathons of that and Family Guy!
The only thing I don't understand about TBS is why on the weekends, they totally disregard their "very funny" slogan and show any movie they can get their hands on, comedy or not.
CBS is the best broadcast network, but FOX and ABC aren't too far behind. The best cable networks other than TBS are USA and TNT.
icecream 04-18-2011, 12:52 AM For shows with new episodes that are great ABC and USA both had three this past year. ABC: The Middle, No Ordinary Family, Castle USA: White Collar, Psych, and Covert Affairs
For rerun networks the Hub is the best for sitcoms (Happy Days, The Wonder Years, Doogie Howser, and Family Ties all in primetime!) and INSP is the best for dramas (Our House, Highway to Heaven, Wind at My Back, and The Waltons all back-to-back in the evenings).
LUNCH 04-18-2011, 11:36 AM Not a broadcast or cable station, but one of the best stations period right now is Antenna-tv,maybe the best.
CBS, USA, FX, History, and MeTV
LUNCH 04-18-2011, 12:46 PM I would have mentioned Me-TV,but since we don't get it yet I have not personally viewed the station, but they do seem very good.

As for a broadcast network, I'd say either CBS or FOX.
treky 04-23-2011, 01:52 AM well, for movies it's DEFINETALY TCM!!! Only thing about them that I don't like is; they don't ever show certain movies for some reason: the "STAR WARS" & "STAR TREK" movies, the James Bond movies, "NATIONAL LAMPOONS ANIMAL HOUSE", "MASH", the "NATIONAL LAMPOONS VACTION" movies and a lot of others. I e-mailed them and asked them why, but I never got a response.
Regulus 04-23-2011, 07:17 AM LSN! You watch whatever you want WHEN you watch it, NOBODY Butts in to try to sell you something you are not interested in purchasing, and, best of all, after you finish watching it, YOU GET TO KEEP IT!

I don't watch much regular TV that much because the Office got off to a sloppy start, the Celebrity Apprentice came back, I couldn't get into Mike and Molly
skymarshallwinky 04-24-2011, 12:13 AM NBC (if only for their Thursday comedies... yes, actually, only for their Thursday comedies)
FOX (the most daring of the networks, even if 3 hours of their schedule are wasted on that American Idol garbage)
AMC (Breaking Bad, Mad Men... the two best dramas on TV)
FX (Louie! Justified, Terriers, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, The League, Archer)
IFC (syndicated Arrested Development, Mr. Show, Freaks & Geeks, as well as new stuff like Portlandia and Todd Margaret)
