Has anyone noticed that the public domain dvds are actually becoming discontinued and not "available" as much anymore? Of course, you can find them if you want to. But they don't seem to be as widely available as they once were and not in so many varieties.
Maybe this bodes well for the Season 5 official release.

Season four seems to be selling better than season three, which means we'll definitely see Season five before the end of the year. I only hope they put the "Lucy In London" special as a bonus feature. If CBS/Paramount includes the special I think Season five will be one of the biggest selling seasons for "The Lucy Show.":)

When season 5 is released, we should have a National "burn or destroy" your public domain Lucy Show dvd Day, so we don't have to see them ever again!!!!

 Great idea! Hopefully, we will see the official Season 5 by Fall. Good to see Season 4 is selling better again.

If that's true season 4 is doing well, I'm thrilled! I so hope Lucy in London is included on season five!

When season 5 is released, we should have a National "burn or destroy" your public domain Lucy Show dvd Day, so we don't have to see them ever again!!!! :lol:Oh, I don't know… I have a rather sentimental attachment to my public domain DVDs, because the longest time, they were the only way I could see THE LUCY SHOW. So, honestly, I'm thankful some of the episodes fell into public domain – otherwise I wouldn't have been able to see this show at all probably for years (except for a few select episodes I recorded on video).
I do wonder though, with the release of the official box sets, does that mean no part of the Lucy show is in the public domain anymore? If so, that would make these box sets illegal now. But, they still take me back to the good old days – back when there wasn't YouTube or Internet streaming, when video stores were places of family excursion, back when we were thankful just have a few episodes of our favorite show, and we treasure those box sets. That's how I feel about mine.
All that being said, I do hate double dipping. So, I'm not sure how I'm going to handle the situation of getting the Lucy show season sets, and keeping my old box set of public domain episodes. It's posed a real dilemma for me, ha ha! I keep thinking to myself, if only there wasn't one episode from season five missing in the public domain box said, I probably wouldn't buy the official season five!
