Master of Literary Horror to Pen "Walking Dead"?
Source: IGN
March 19, 2011
Laurie Holden, co-star of "The Walking Dead", dropped some interesting news on the audience attending C2E2 today.
The actress said that Stephen King is in talks to pen an episode of "Walking Dead" in season 2.
This really shouldn't come as any shocker as series producer Frank Darabont has had a long creative relationship with the author. Darabont adapted The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile and The Mist.
It was also revealed Darabont will likely not direct the first episode of season 2, however, he will helm an episode later in the year.

TV: "The Walking Dead" Gaining TWO Kings?
Wednesday, March 23, 2011
By: MrDisgusting
Horror author Stephen King confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that he may pen an episode of AMC's second season of "The Walking Dead".
Cool news, right? It gets even better...
King tells the mag that if the deal goes through he'll be teaming with young writer Joe Hill, who is King's son!
Two evil geniuses collaborating on a Frank Darabont produced horror series? I don't think the world can handle this kind of awesomeness...

"Walking Dead’s" Robert Kirkman Wants Stephen King
5/9/2011
by Lesley Goldberg
Any update on Stephen King writing an episode?
That’s been discussed a little bit. Everyone involved on both sides of that are very anxious to make that happen.
AMC is excited, Frank Darabont is excited, I’m excited...
I know Stephen King and Joe Hill are excited.
We’ll see if we can make that come together. I can neither confirm nor deny. (Laughs)

Frank Darabont: Stephen King Is Joining "The Walking Dead"
by Joseph McCabe
6/24/11
At last night's 37th Annual Saturn Awards ceremony in Burbank, Frank Darabont received the prestigious George Pal Memorial Award for his twenty-five year body of genre work, as well as the Saturn for Best TV Presentation for his hit AMC show "The Walking Dead".
I caught up with Darabont in the press room afterwards, and, though he was pretty tight-lipped about the show's upcoming second season, I asked him a couple of questions that are on the minds of all hardcore "Walking Dead" fans right now -- one of which being about Stephen King and his son Joe Hill planning to write an episode this season.
Will Stephen King and Joe Hill still co-write a season 2 episode?
I'm keeping my fingers crossed. It's just a matter of… They want to do it together.
I'm proud to say that they're both addicted fans of the show. In fact, Steve started harassing me by email, because I sent him the first one as soon as we had a lab pressing a disc. Like a decent Blu-ray.
Then he started harassing me for the next one. Because Joe would drive up from wherever he lives, because he lives an hour away, and they'd sit and watch it together. [Laughs]
He'd say, "C'mon, where's the next one?" "It's in the lab, Steve. We're still mixing the sound. I'll get it to you. I promise."
Have they discussed possible scenarios for their episode with you?
No, we haven't yet. We've literally just been waiting for their schedules, given that they're pretty in-demand guys. Both of them. We've just been waiting for their schedules to mesh.
For them to both be free at the same time. That's the only thing that's stopping it from happening. It'll happen eventually, I'm sure.
I'm sure it'll be worth waiting for.
Yeah!

Will Stephen King and Joe Hill Still Write "The Walking Dead" in Season 2?
by Joseph McCabe
July 23, 2011
We asked writer-producer-director Frank Darabont about what is going on at this point with getting Stephen King and Joe Hill on-board "The Walking Dead".
"I'm hoping," said Darabont, "that's going to work for a third season. By the time they got freed up this year… We're in the final marathon push to actually get those last five scripts in. To try and start from scratch on a script with them... writers were already assigned their things, and we gotta get them written soon."
So the good news is that it still looks good. The bad news is it ain't gonna happen this year.
But some things are worth waiting for, and two of the most acclaimed authors in horror literature partnering to write the most acclaimed horror show on TV is definitely one of them.

Exclusive: Joe Hill Talks Writing "The Walking Dead" with Stephen King
by Joseph McCabe
July 28, 2011
Do you think you and Stephen King will get to do "The Walking Dead"?
My dad and I have talked about doing an episode. You know we're huge fans of the series and we both love Frank Darabont who's an old friend, and we both love zombie stories. I'm also a fan of Robert Kirkman who does the graphic novel.
Our schedules just didn't work out for it to happen during Season 2, but we do want to help out for Season 3 and it seems like they do want to have us.
I'd say it's a 90% chance of happening.
Of course with news breaking yesterday of Frank Darabont stepping down as showrunner of "The Walking Dead", the question of whether or not Hill and King (both close friends of Darabont) will remain interested in the series is raised.
