Little House on the Prairie star Melissa Gilbert says she is working to salvage her 16-year marriage after announcing the split earlier this month.

The former child star declared she had separated from actor Bruce Boxleitner on March 1st.

It appears the 46-year-old is trying to resolve her marital problems. According to the National Enquirer, Gilbert is still living with her second husband as they work things out.

The actress has also avoided falling back into her troubled ways after years of sobriety following a drink and drug habit.

The magazine reports Gilbert still listed her relationship status on social networking site Facebook.com as "married" on 10 March and wrote on her profile, "My marriage is a miracle. I am sober."

The stars are parents to 15-year-old son Michael, in addition to three kids from previous relationships.

I hope Melissa and Bruce are able to work things out. They make such a great couple.

I saw them both at a fan event in Tombstone, AZ in the summer of 2005. They both seemed so happy - I too hope they can patch things up for good!!

I was surprised to hear of their separation, as they always seemed to have such a solid relationship. I hope they can both resolve their differences and save their marriage...

I know they'd had a rocky courtship (and Melissa confirms that in her memoir, Prairie Tale), but they always seemed made for each other. I hope and pray that they reconcile for good. :love:
