"I treasure you people..." Just a beautiful line delivered perfectly by Ed Asner. Mary shutting off the lights at the very end was the perfect touch.

Ehh, I was wrong! I would have sworn it was "I cherish you people"! :lol:

Anyway, yeah, I remember watching this one as a 12 year old kid, and really hating the fact that I wouldn't see these great characters again (well, most of them, anyway). Great show that never 'jumped the shark' and was able to be smart and heartwarming too, in just the right combination.

Back then, final episodes were not a big deal. They were usually just another episode of the show. But MTM changed that.

And when Dallas became big, all of a sudden, even some sitcoms were having "cliffhanger" finales.

And I think the M*A*S*H finale really whipped things up where it was an event.
