If your confused by the title what I mean is that on my digital cable box it says "All in the Family", 6-6:30, then 6:30 to 7 pm. The thing is when I put on TV Land at 6, the show has already started. One night it ended at 10 after 6, tonight it ended 20 after 6. Then the second episode starts and the second episode ends with about 10 mins. left in the hour. I HATE:mad: when they do that.
I also hate the fact that there are promos over the credits, pop-up ads all over the screen etc. Cant I just watch in peace??!!!

That's one of the reasons I don't watch TV Land apart from HIC. It's just too hard to find out when one of their few classic shows airs

That's one of my biggest pet peeves about TV Land besides the credit crunches. Those morons think they have to show more commercials, yet the shows are still heavily edited, and it makes it hard to know when the show comes on. This is the dumbest thing ever.

i don't understand why the TVLand people can't see how much this practice annoys viewers.
ABC and some of the other networks do this too sometimes - it ALWAYS screws up your DVR recordings, and it often prevents you from recording other shows because of that 1 or 2 minute overlap.

It's because they could care less about their viewers/ex-viewers.It's called 'off the clock programming'.It's just another excuse to show extra commercials. They still heavily edit the shows, they just add in an extra 5 minutes or so of commercials IN ADDITION to the obcene amount they already show. And as you mentioned it's not only TVLand that does it now.

They also do it so you won't change the channel for the next show. It never works with me.

I have to respectfully disagree,I don't think that's another reason why they do it.TBS did it for that reason when they first started out,but that was back when their was still some true competition among television stations.

They do it to fit more commercials. The broadcast networks that run-over by a minute or two, does it so you don't change the channel at 10pm (and on screen guides know about this well ahead of time). So that point is irrelevant. That isn't bad at all, but TV Land really messes the schedule up by going off-the-clock for nearly the entire schedule. In fact, an entire half-hour is lost due to this. So you get 30 more minutes of commercials for an entire day on TV Land.

Since getting Antenna-TV I rarely have even looked at TVLands schedule, but I just noticed that now tvland are running their entire daytime and prime time schedule off the clock. Why don't they just show commercials, why do they still pretend they are a television station.

The people behind TVLand should be put in a padded room so they can write out their schedle on the walls using their feet.
