at least every once in awhile. Lifetime did sometimes.

TBS airs Saved By the Bell Mon-Thurs for two hours, but Fridays airs Saved by the Bell the College Years. I think it would be cool if Hallmark did something like this, one day a week air "The Golden Palace." at least every once in awhile! Or, air it right after the last season of "The Golden Girls." not necessarily every time through the series, but every so often!

Golden Palace was HUGE mistake ... it didn't have the charm of Golden Girls. But, it's somewhat amusing.

The Golden Palace was not a mistake. I disagree with you there. Bea didn't want to be on The Golden Girls anymore. 7 Years was a great long run for The Golden Girls. However, Betty, Rue, and Estelle wanted to continue their roles as Rose, Blanche, and Sophia, so they went on The Golden Palace. It was nice to see Bea on 2 episodes of The Golden Palace. The Golden Palace didn't have the charm like The Golden Girls did. I do agree with you there. The Golden Palace still had some funny episodes. Love the episode when Rose calls 411 instead of 911...lol. Let's hope for a DVD release!

They did for a while in 2011. I wish they would've stuck with it longer.

I agree I actually liked The Golden Palace (in fact I'm waiting for the DVD to arrive in the mail- found and bought it off a site that sells shows that you can't usually find on the regular sites like eBay etc.) It wasn't the Golden Girls but it was different AND still hilarious :) loved seeing Bea guest star too!

The Golden Girls as it is started to be less funny the last few seasons, so taking Beat out of the equation was going to make it even less so. But,. the show was cute and I watched it. I'd get it on DVD if released.

I wish that Hallmark would air it as well. I laughed hysterically at most of these episodes. Would love to have this episode on DVD.

Saw the show on Lifetime when it aired and thought it was fine. Wish they would air it somewhere. Also, I agree about Empty Nest. They should've left that show on.

To me, when they had her back on there for a guest appearance, it was as though they were admitting that they needed better ratings. And it was too much of a tease for the audience. They needed to recast another lady in a different role to help forget about Dorothy. Perhaps, bring Aunt Angela in as a person who stays at the hotel. Nancy Walker would have been great and helped to defray the loss of Dorothy.

Then the eps aired October 30th and November 6th. Now, regarding miss walker: she passed away during the spring of that year while she was cast in another sitcom for FOX called "True Colors". I don't have an issue with Golden Palace. It kept me laughing hysterically so in my book, it was a great show.

Nancy Walker, who played Aunt Angela, passed away in 1992. No option there...

I would have enjoyed seeing a younger roommate for a change - not a relative of the girls, but someone who might be widowed early in life. The girls could have some generational fun together...

But surely it didn't make you laugh nearly as much as GG? Please? lol :)

It made me laugh just as much. People are different. We have to keep that in mind and not try and tell them what made them laugh and what didn't. The writing along with the actors was excellent.

I agree, ThomasE.

I enjoyed Golden Palace, and have it on DVD, thanks to a company that recorded it off a TV and made it available for sale.

I have a feeling that devout Bea Arthur fans are the ones primarily saying that Golden Palace was lame. I can respect their opinion. But let's not forget, although Golden Palace was missing "Dorothy" it gave us Don Cheadle and Cheech Marin. A new and interesting twist on the Golden Girls concept. It's not the same, but enjoyable none the less. :)
