BRYAN, Marcia Lewis December 21, 2010. Born in Malden, MA and raised in Cincinnati, she was a graduate of Woodward High School, attended the University of Cincinnati and received her nursing degree from the Jewish Hospital School of Nursing before pursuing a 40 year career as a Broadway actress and singer, with her debut performance in Hello Dolly. Ms. Lewis was a two-time Tony Award nominee and a veteran of both Broadway and off-Broadway shows. In addition to her career asan actress, she released a solo CD entitled "Marcia Lewis Nowadays." Marcia also appeared in various television sitcoms and occasional films. Marcia and her husband Fred D. Bryan married in 2001 and since that time had made her home in Nashville where she contributed to local theater and art. In addition to her husband, she is survived by his children Mary Bryan Fortin of Memphis, Margaret Bryan Hakimian of Boston and William Felix Bryan of Chapel Hill, TN; six grandchildren; brother, Edwin P. "Pete" Lewis, Jr. and wife Lorraine; niece, Jennifer Faith Lewis and nephew Roger Lewis, all of Cincinnati, and an uncle and cousins living in the Boston area. Her parents Edwin and Bernice Lewis and niece Robin C. Lewis preceded her in death. Bishop Robert H. Spain will conduct a memorial service to honor Marcia's life at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 27th at Brentwood United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until time of service at the church. Honorary Pallbearers are William Felix Bryan, Thomas R. Cummings, Joel Grey, Mark Hummel, Dick Latessa, Lee Roy Reams, James R. Stadler, Justin P. Wilson, Kevin Woodworth and the Robert I. Moore Class. Memorial contributions may be made to Towne Centre Theatre at townecentretheatre.com, Brentwood United Methodist Church, 309 Franklin Road, Brentwood, TN 37027 or Broadway charity of choice.
