Some of what's written will probably be quite familiar to long-time fans of The Dick Van Dyke Show, but I think it's an interesting article nonetheless that takes a look at why the show and its comedy has aged so very well despite the television show being over forty years old. The article also made me realize that the episode "The Return Of Happy Spangler" was more than just "another episode" and that it was a product of Carl Reiner wanting to make a statement before the show wrapped up production for good (since it seemed at the time that cancellation was likely). I do disagree with the writer's take on the lecture scene in the aforementioned episode, but other than that, I found the article to be well-written and enjoyable.
