Mine is Conan O'Brien. Looking at his beginnings on Late Night where he never performed in front of an audience and the maturity he achieved as a performer. I do like him better on Late Night. His comedy was more edgy and goofier than now. He still got it but I think the whole Tonight Show ordeal shook him up a bit. I love the way him and Andy Richter play off each other. They are a good comedy team together.

Jimmy Fallon. He's the one late night host who seems to be truly enjoying what he is doing and is creating original material. Jay and Dave are both just coasting on reputation at this point. Craig Ferguson has a small repitoire of bits that he reuses constantly. Once you've seen one episode of his show you've seen all of his material. I think Jimmy Kimmel is feeling the pressure of carrying ABC's latenight hopes on his back.

I think mine is Jimmy Fallon, also. I don't watch any of them on a regular basis, but of course you can see clips all over the place. I like his Charlie Sheen! :lol:

....one is Craig Ferguson, for obvious reasons.

The other is Joey Reynolds, who does "ALL NIGHT" on the NBC New York Non-Stop cable channel {Midnight-2am(et)}. He's only been on for two months, yet his show is simply different from every other late night series on network televsion...primarily because he doesn't have the same budgets, or "A-list" of guests the others have, and does his show from the cavernous NASDAQ ground floor studio in downtown N.Y. He basically does a variation of his former New York radio show (cancelled by WOR-AM last year), with guests who've previously been with him on radio [The Amazing Kreskin, for one], and some offbeat musical performers. It's still going to take Joey a while to "adjust" from radio to TV {yet Wendy Williams did it within a few weeks after the start of her syndicated daytime talk series}, but whatever he's "got", he's definitely going to get it!

Jay Leno still makes me laugh, although I'm hardly ever up that late and don't have Tivo. Even when I do watch the show, it's just the monologue and the first segment (i.e., Jay walking, headlines, Beyondo, stuff like that) I normally don't stay up for the guests.

I also like David Letterman's Top Ten every now and then.

This is the extent of my late night talk show viewing.

Conan is my favorite, followed closely by Fallon and Letterman. I've also grown to like Jon Stewart on The Daily Show.

Jay Leno, basically by default because I was a huge Carson fan from a very early age. I would have liked to see Freddie Prinze get the gig, which I understand he was pretty much promised, but of course he didn't live long enough... :(

I love Letterman's Top 10 also, but lost all respect for him in the wake of the scandal. The others I don't stay up late enough to see anymore LOL! I liked some of what I saw of Conan when he was on NBC, but not enough to bother.

By saying strictly their interviews, I mean to say that I don't find their monologues or segments funny. Fallon is by far the most creative!

I think he's just about finished at NBC New York Nonstop. They were airing repeats of his show the Friday before and the Monday after Easter....then they filled his two-hour time slot with their other shows {"TALK STOOP", "NON-STOP FOODIES", "CASH CAB", et. al.} for the remainder of the week....and that's not very encouraging when someone virtually started a TV show from scratch, three months before. I haven't heard anything about him no longer being on [his show's website is still up], but I'm wondering....for some reason, he's not as funny as he was at the start {his jokes are starting to sound "stale"}, and he looks somewhat uncomfortable during the show. A question of money? Lack of enthusiasm from "upstairs"? An argument over the content of a certain show? Who knows? All I know is, if he isn't on tonight.....

I noticed since Conan shaved his beard off he is much looser and back to his silly goofy comedy style like he did on Late Night. I just read that they are going to do some shows in New York and Chicago. I hope they do some in San Francisco. Conan and Andy rocks.

I am starting to warm to Jimmy Fallon, having been introduced to him by my college student older kid. I love the thank you notes and hashtags!
