Notice how many PS episode plots revolve around Larry suspecting the worst when Balki has a new friend or romantic interest. Usually he thinks the person is out to exploit Balki. (Cousin Bartok, Carol Mosely) Once in a while he thinks Balki's not good for the other person - namely, Grandpa Appleton.

Of course, sometimes he's right. But could there ever be a fear somewhere that someone is going to replace him as Balki's best friend? Watch Larry's face when Balki refers to Grandpa Appleton as "my best bud, Buzz."

And here are some more ideas, and just things to think about for fanfic:


- a high school journalism class tours the Chronicle, and an appalled Balki intervenes when he sees one student being teased and bullied - but this leads to that student developing a crush/obsession and following him around

-Balki helps a scholar research Myposian culture, and in the process, Larry learns more about the gods, prophets, and super-beings of Mypos, leading him to contemplate the possibility that Balki is one of those that disguise themselves as ordinary Mypiots.

- Larry gets flak from the Appleton family for distancing himself from them, and for making it more of a priority to be there for Balki

- What if Larry had not been promoted to editorial writer at the same time Balki was promoted to children's editor? Would their friendship have ever been the same?

- Larry analyzing the meaning of the dreams in "Aliens" and "Call Me Indestructible."
