View Full Version : References to Ozzie and Harriet in other TV Shows, Movies, Books, etc.
Goldilocks 03-08-2011, 05:42 PM Forgive me if there is already another thread on this. (It didn't show up in the search I did....)
What have been other things you've seen (or heard) where The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet is/was mentioned?
I saw some show on Animal Planet the other night where this woman with a gazillion cats had an Oci Cat (sp?) It's some breed from the Ocelot. Anyway, she named it Ozzie (pronounced "Ossie") and the female Harriet. :rolleyes2
Can't think of anymore right this minute...
biffbronson 03-08-2011, 07:33 PM On Happy Days, Richie is talking to his dad Howard about buying a second car, and he says to him that "you like Ozzie [Nelson]."
ILUVO&H 03-08-2011, 10:01 PM Happy Days had quite a few Ozzie and Harriet references.
In Fonzie Loves Pinky, Richie thinks he'll use Rick as his radio name while announcing the race, and Fonzie says .. 'Is your Dad's name Ozzie?'
In another episode 2nd season I believe, Richie has a radio show and he is doing a live remote from Arnolds and he says it's home of the Ricky Nelson burger.
In yet another episode, Howard takes Richie with him to a Leopard convention and is feeling rather low about Richie not liking it, and like he and Richie are growing apart. Ralph and Potsie cheer him up telling him what a great dad he is, he's just like Ozzie Nelson.
I was watching Patty Duke and there was an episode where Patty mentioned Ricky Nelson, and her father not knowing who he is, thinks she's talking about a guy in the neighborhood and asks who his parents are. Pattys mother says Ozzie and Harriet. The father still thinks its a family in their neighborhood, and Patty and her mother just laugh at him.
The other week I was watching Wonder Years and the episode was Kevin thinking back to his youth and middle school and they have a little montage of scenes from the show and footage of real events of that time, and there was a little clip of Ozzie and Harriet from the first episode.
snorlaxnut 03-08-2011, 11:02 PM The show was mentioned in the movie Raising Arizona (second quote on page).

It was mentioned on Good Times in the episode "Springtime In The Ghetto", Willona brings a bowl with two goldfish in it, named "Ozzie and Harriet". At the end of the episode, the fish have babies, and J.J. names them David, Ricky, Susan and Brenda (The girls from "Ozzie's Girls".).
On Step By Step, episode "The Honeymoon Is Over", Mark brings over his girlfriend for dinner. One of the other kids refers to them as "ozzie and Harriet".
On an episode of NCIS, "The Good Wives Club", a man is watching the episode "The Bachelor", says he has the "Best Of" box set.
Maybe you should look at this page at IMDB for more O&H mentioned in TV and movies.

I think also that Patty Lane had a photo of Ricky Nelson on her bedroom wall.
Here's one: On Seinfeld, Jerry Seinfeld sees Kramer (iirc) wearing a sweater and comments something like "Who are you, Ozzie Nelson?"
ILUVO&H 03-09-2011, 10:11 AM There's the original Parent Trap, where Susan is hanging up pictures in their cabin, a gust of wind and rain comes in and ruines one..
Susan: Oh dirty Don, look at this one, just ruined.
Sharon: Oh, who is it?
Susan: (in disbelieve) What? You mean Ricky Nelson!
Sharon: Oh, your boyfriend?
Susan: Ha, I wish he was! Where do you come from outter space?
Janine the Dream 03-09-2011, 04:44 PM On the show Picket Fences, the defense attorney in trying to drive a point home about a troubled couple said: This is not Ozzie and Harriet.

That's the first one I thought of, too. :D
biffbronson 07-31-2011, 04:23 AM There's a mention on The Odd Couple (TV series). When Felix briefly acts like an "ordinary joe" because he thinks he'll have a better chance to get on Password, Oscar compares him to Ozzie.
