Hey guys,
This past Wednesday March 2, 2011, Theodor Seuss Geisel better known to millions of readers as Dr. Seuss would've turned 107 years old and this year, marks 20 years since the death of Dr. Seuss
Seuss died on September 24, 1991 @ the age of 87 after his battle w/Throat Cancer
But it was 40 years ago this week, that CBS brought Seuss' trademark Character The Cat in the Hat to life on Television
The Cat in the Hat made its debut on CBS as a Primetime Special on March 10, 1971 which was 8 days after Dr. Seuss' 67th Birthday
The series was Produced by Dr. Seuss and the late Chuck Jones and David H. DePatie and the late Friz Freleng served as the Executive Producers of this special
The voice of The Cat in the Hat was done by the late Allan Sherman
The voice of The Fish was done by the late Daws Butler
The voice of The Boy was done by Tony Frazier
The voice of Sally was done by Pamelyn Ferdin
The voice of Thing 1 & Thing 2 were done by the late Thurl Ravenscroft and the late Lewis Morford
The Cat in the Hat was a Cat in the Hat Presentation and was produced by The CBS Television Network in association w/DePatie-Freleng Entertainment Films Presentation
This special has also been seen in reruns on Cable TV on The Original Disney Channel, TBS SuperStation and TNT
