It worked for Betty White, but would it be too dangerous with Charlie Sheen? No doubt about it, it would probably bring in record numbers for NBC. At this point, what does NBC have to lose? They need to take risks to get back on top, but is having Sheen host a LIVE show a bit too risky?

Purely speculative, but I'm sure Lorne Michaels and his producers have considered it. I mean, like him or no, Sheen is the tabloid topic du jour and an appearance would generate ratings.

But they have to wonder if Sheen would be stable enough to make it through to Saturday and would it be worth the headaches he'd put them through?

My guess: It probably won't happen.

I think it would be a bad idea. I think that the more attention given to Charlie Sheen the more he might think his current behavior is acceptable. The last thing he needs is more encouragement to continue on the path he's on.

With him claining to have tiger blood.... I'm surprised he's not in a padded room somewhere. He honestly needs some real help and the sooner the better, imo.

he hosted years ago and did a great job but in the shape that hes in right now it would be a disaster for both him and the show

Don't worry! I'm sure a "reality" show is in the works for Charlie for his next gig, if he lives long enough!

Not only would it be a bad idea, but I don't think he is physically or mentally capable of doing it. The whole show would be a train wreck.

i think it'd be a good show - better than a lot of the hosts they've had the past couple of seasons.

...and i'd like to see if he could maintain any "character" other than Charlie Harper for longer than a couple of minutes at a time.
