I'll bet that got your attention, lol. It's often said that the person we marry reminds us of our parents. My husband has so many of my father's characteristics, mainly they were both VERY hard workers. I could never be with someone who didn't have a strong work ethic. Both one-woman men, and strong family men. Great sense of humor on the both of them too. Both huge Red Sox fans. I could go on and on.

My husband always thought I resembled his mother, and I tend to agree. I'm a good homemaker, as she was too. He enjoys a home-cooked meal. She was very devoted to her husband, same as I am to her son.

My husband's son called earlier, very upset. He recently got married to a woman he knew for less than six months. She's drinking a lot, and driving him crazy. His mother was a nice person, but she had a drinking problem. It's the reason that my husband divorced her. This is my stepson's second wife, both of them alcoholics. That makes me wonder.

I think there's something to the theory that we often marry people who remind us of our parents.

I believe it. The last couple of guys that I have been interested in have reminded me of my daddy.

They should make a book called "We Are Our Parents' Spouses". :lol:

I am single myself but I certainly see reflections of my parents in my siblings spouses!

My wife and my mother are nothing alike.

Neither of my brother-in-laws are like my dad, unless liking Nascar counts.

It makes sense, really. Most of us hold our parents up as the model of what a parent should be, so we'd naturally seek out someone who reminded us of them, even if subconsciously. :)

i think it's true for some people, but not in my case - my mom and Robyn are nothing alike and have absolutely nothing in common - except me.

My ex was is a big @ss and crappy father just like my father, so I guess so.
