Resident Evil 5 Has a Release Date

Screen Gems has another chapter in the Resident Evil franchise in the works. And they want one in theaters in 2012.
The company has announced the presently untitled Resident Evil 5 will open September 14, 2012.
This will follow the events of Resident Evil: Afterlife, presumably, along with Alice (Milla Jovovich) and her merry band of survivors who were in deep sh*t by the end of the fourth film.
No word yet if Paul W.S. Anderson will return to direct, but he'll probably be back on screenwriting duties. We're not certain if this entry will be 3D either.
This news just broke, so stay tuned for more details as they come in.

Sienna Guillory Back for Resident Evil 5

Sienna Guillory confirmed via a rather funny message that she is returning as Jill Valentine for Screen Gems' Resident Evil 5.
She posted the following on her Twitter account:
"RE:5 alert! Training begins! I aim to mostly put less in the big hole on the front of my face than comes out of the little one on my arse."
Guillory appeared at the tail-end of Resident Evil: Afterlife.

Jovovich Talks Resident Evil: Retribution

Milla Jovovich took to her Twitter account to divulge a bit of details about the fifth Resident Evil film set up at Screen Gems.
The actress confirmed that, of course, her character "Alice" is back and Paul W.S. Anderson is involved.
She also spilled the beans about the title, writing, "I think its called RE: Retribution, but i have to ask paul 2 b sure."
Jovovich also says that it looks like shooting will occur in Tokyo.
"I pray 4 japan everyday and i can't wait 2 go there and shoot the nxt RE!"
She added:
"Just to let the RE fans know, 'cause there's been a bunch of questions about the next film, Paul has kids that are professional players. All they do is play the games until they master every level and unlock every code. They play the games for weeks and give Paul the footage.
So, he's literally watching days of the most awesome RE players out there to get inspiration for the next installment of the franchise."
Screen Gems has slotted the sequel for a September 14, 2012 release.

Resident Evil: Retribution Shooting This October

Resident Evil: Retribution is gearing up for a shoot this coming October that will take Alice from Toronto, Canada all the way to Tokyo, Japan.
Plot details are under lock and key, but Sony Screen Gems is aiming to have it in theaters come September 14, 2012.
An October start date could ensure this.
