A few weeks ago I got some mail, I work weird hours so my mom often brings the mail in. If I do get mail she tells me, and puts it in a noticeable spot. Well one piece said on the front that it was tax information so she didn't tell me and just put it with the rest of the tax stuff. Which is fine, but she assumed the other piece of mail was tax stuff too. It wasn't. When I noticed some mail on the kitchen counter were my mom had just moved it I assumed it had just come in today. So imagine my shock and horror when I opened my credit card bill, and saw that it was due by Feb 22. I called my credit card company to let them know and my mom offered to pay any late payment charges, but I'm worried that this will affect my credit score. I've never made a late payment before and I always paid my bill in full. That's what else is so stupid the bill was for less than $12 and I now might have a $35 dollars fee.

I'm sure if this is your first and only late payment it shouldn't hurt your score too badly. What did the credit card company say when you called them? I admire you for wanting to keep your credit record as clear as possible.
The guy at the credit card company just said thanks for letting them know. Ironically the day I sent in the check was the day I got my new bill. The fee wasn't too bad $13.

Well, I'm mad at BOTH of my parents because they need me to put stuff up on craigslist because I know how to do it!
I'm carless right now and it seems as though they're STILL taking advantage of me!
I REALLY HATE MY LIFE!!!
Okay...I take that back...I just had to vent...I just wish I could have a better relationship with my parents than do everything for them....

Yeah that's too bad. If it helps, I know I've been late with a credit card payment before, maybe once quite a while back, and while it probably did effect my score, I don't think it did much damage because my current score is very, very good.
As long as you keep up with all your subsequent payments, with this and other bills, I'm sure you'll be fine. And honestly, it's a mistake that moms make. It's hard living with your parents sometimes; issues of privacy and such pop up sometimes. But as I'm sure you realize, you're VERY fortunate to have a mom still around. :)

I can understand your frustration (late fees = yuck), but this situation was bound to happen eventually. That bill could have easily been delayed by bad weather or sent to the wrong address. So, cut mom some slack.
To prevent this from happening again, try using online billing or at the very least pay all of your bills on a specific day (or days depending on your income) each month instead of paying them as they come in. If you do the later, when you discover a bill is missing, you can either search for it at home or call the credit card company to get a copy.
You should def get back at her by burning down her house.
I hope you are kidding!
