That would make sense. The person who posted the Youtube video said it was from 1985, so the show TeeVeeCloset mentioned just might be where it's from.

Mine was just an educated guess. I only had snippets of the SNL show that Rick was on (it was on a Best of '79 VHS). The DVD had his opening of the show, the Twilight Zone and "Quien Es Mas Mucho" skits. And the sketch did seem like an SNL sketch - although kind of tame - given how outrageous SNL could be.

Recently I was able to purchase that entire year on DVD at J & R (it was on sale for $22.) It will be fun to see the full SNL ep. (I probably did when it orig. aired but was not into O & H at the time)

This clip is from "The Motown Review," hosted by Smokey Robinson, which aired on August 30, 1985. Rick performed two songs on the show and was backed by the Jordanaires. The songs were "Lonesome Town" and his last single, "You Know What I Mean."
