ABC lands a Charlie Sheen interview for Tuesday
By Daniel Fienberg - No word on who will conduct the '20/20' interview
Saturday, Feb 26, 2011 6:06 PM
ABC sent out a scheduling release on Saturday scheduling a special interview with Charlie Sheen for next week.
Announced under the title "A Special Edition of 20/20 - The Charlie Sheen Interview," the installment will air from 10:01 to 11 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1 in the slot now vacated by "Detroit 187."
The ABC update offered no additional information on the special, including who conducted (or will conduct) the interview, when it was conducted (or will be conducted) or what truth-bombs were dropped (or will be dropped).
This will be the first network interview with Sheen since CBS and Warner Brother TV announced that the plug has been pulled on the remainder of the season of "Two and a Half Men."
Although he's eschewed traditional forms of contact since production on his comedy hit was halted in late January, Sheen and his people have been in regular contact with TMZ, Dan Patrick and a variety of radio shows.

Charlie Sheen talks with ABC News' Andrea Canning on a special one-hour edition of "20/20" to air Tuesday, March 1 at 10 p.m. ET.
Canning questions Sheen on his controversial remarks and his public feud with the CBS comedy's creator, Chuck Lorre, which resulted in the hit show's suspension, as well as his notorious headline-making actions.
Portions of the interview will air on "Good Morning America" on Monday and Tuesday, and throughout ABC News platforms.
"Two and a Half Men" had been on hiatus since January after Sheen entered rehab. CBS announced Thursday night that it had canceled the rest of the season after the actor's scathing rant against Lorre on the radio program "Alex Jones Show."
In that interview, Sheen said of Lorre that he must have embarrassed him "in front of his children and the world by healing at a pace that his un-evolved mind cannot process."
He went on to call Lorre a "turd" and a "clown," and he sparked accusations of anti-Semitism after pointedly referring to Lorre's birth name, Chaim Levine.
The actor has denied the claims of anti-Semitism.
"I was referring to Chuck by his real name, because I wanted to address the man, not the [expletive] TV persona," Sheen told the celebrity Web site TMZ.
"So you're telling me, anytime someone calls me Carlos Estevez, I can claim they are anti-Latino?" Sheen asked ABC's Canning, referring to his own birth name.

Me too, although I think this will be the final nail in 2 1/2 Men's coffin.

In a Special Edition of “20/20” to air Tuesday, March 1 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET), Charlie Sheen talks to ABC News’ Andrea Canning. A preview of the interview will air on “Good Morning America” and across all ABC News platforms on Monday and Tuesday. Canning questions Sheen on his controversial remarks and his public feud with the CBS comedy’s creator, Chuck Lorre, which resulted in the hit show’s suspension, as well as his notorious headline-making actions.

10:01pm A Special Edition of 20/20: The Charlie Sheen Interview (wt)
[Detroit 1-8-7 is preempted.]
Mr. Television 02-26-2011, 11:08 PM I bet it will do great in the ratings. It's like a car wreck. Everybody's going to watch. I don't think I've ever seen a major tv star self distruct in the public eye like this before.

Perhaps, Freddie Prinze?
Mr. Television 02-26-2011, 11:35 PM Perhaps, Freddie Prinze?
I don't really know how much the public knew about Freddie's drug problems before his death. The media wasn't like it is today.I watched his show every week and I didn't know. I was pretty young though. I remember being shocked when I heard he killed himself. It was the talk of the school the next day.

I guess you are right, with the internet and cable things are vastly different.
R.jsheedy 02-27-2011, 12:14 AM There’s a reason why recovering addicts are secluded from the public when they are in a proper rehab facility. Addicts often act out in anti-social behavior and anger when they first transition to sobriety, mostly due to the changes their body chemistry is going through. Since Charlie is being pampered in an at-home “rehab light”, the whole world gets to see his withdrawal symptoms. If Sheen’s people had been smart enough to force him into a real rehab facility, only a therapist would be hearing these rants in private. This behavior will pass in a month or so if Charlie sticks with his sobriety.
Schmoopie 02-27-2011, 01:42 AM Oh this will definitely be interesting. Too bad they don't care about all those people he put out of work. I'd rather see them being interviewed.
catlover79 02-27-2011, 02:56 AM Perhaps, Freddie Prinze?
I don't think Freddie Prinze shot his mouth off at the higher ups at his show or network like Charle Sheen is doing, though I could be wrong. Freddie Prinze died before I was born, and I don't know much about his downward spiral except that his wife left him and took Freddie Jr. with her.

Charlie Sheen: I'm High ... on Charlie Sheen!
February 27th, 2011 6:10 PM by Free Britney
Charlie Sheen admits in a new interview with ABC's 20/20, which will air Tuesday and will be teased on GMA tomorrow, that he is SO high on a drug.
You know that drug as Charlie Sheen.
The actor, who went OFF on his boss last week after CBS shut down production on Two and a Half Men, wants to share his side of the story. Again.
Smoke Blower
"I have one speed. I have one gear. Go!" says Sheen, who will not accept defeat (at what, no one knows) to ABC. "I dare you to keep up with me."
Andrea Canning, who visited Sheen and his goddesses, Bree Olson and Natalie Kenly at his home this weekend, even learned what he's high on:
"I am on a drug. It's called Charlie Sheen."
The actor entered an "at home rehab program" after an epic bender last month and is currently feuding with the producers of his hit CBS show.
Why is he speaking out, seemingly every day? "There's wrongs to be righted and stories to tell," he says. "People need to hear my side of it."
"Need" is a strong word. But we do enjoy it.
Marvo301 02-27-2011, 08:52 PM I have better things to do than listen to more delusional verbal diarrhea from Charlie Sheen. I shall not be watching on Tuesday night.
claret 02-27-2011, 09:27 PM I'd love it if no one watched, but I know that won't be the case. I know I won't be.
Mr. Television 02-27-2011, 09:32 PM I usually watch Castle on my DVR on Tuesdays at 10 but unfortunately I'm changing my schedule to watch this catastrophe. :ohno:
