I remember watching a case on Unsolved Mysteries a young couple are parked somewhere in the woods. After an hour or so a guy comes up with an assault rilfe and fires a few rounds at the couple killing them. One guy said it was a black man in a silver car that did it. Later on another young couple in a car up on a hill saw a car speeding out when the the gun shots had stopped. They drove down the hill to see what happen, they got out of the car and the saw victim's bodies.

The suspect, Andy Cook, was captured and confessed. Not sure of his sentence, though.
