All the Crane men drank alot, but they weren't raging alcoholics. They enjoyed their wines & beer, but certainly were in control.

Frasier does drink a significant amount of alcohol. (mostly wine) However it doesn't interfere with his ability to do his job. It hasn't ruined his personal life. So I would say Frasier is not an alcoholic.

I think it was just his way of relaxing. He and Niles were wine drinkers and Niles was always drinking Sherry's. I never thought about how much they actually drank though. And then there's Martin's appreciation for beer!
